Original star Alanna Ubach responds enthusiastically about her possible *Legally Blonde 3* comeback, but the third film stays in a vague state of flux. Against a $18 million budget, Ubach rose to notoriety portraying Serena Mcguire, best friend and sorority sister to Reese Witherspoon's leading lady Elle Woods in MGM's 2001 hit rom-com, which was a box office success, collecting over $140 million worldwide. Ubach opened up on the potential of her returning to the Serena role in *Legally Blonde 3*, stating that there had been "sort of" conversations for her to return, but stopped short of providing clear assurance during a recent interview with Screen Rant for Ted's awards consideration. Alanna Ubach: Yes, a prelude. Watching that will be exciting. *Elle* the Prequel; suppose well, immediately before she starts college, and I'm really looking forward seeing her as a little chicken right before she enrols at USC. When I first watched the show, I really loved it. [For me to come back, there have been sort of conversations]. Really, I'm not sure whether I can say anything about it at all. Not sure. Really, your estimate is as good as mine.
Being a character actor has the oddity in that you are usually called one week before production begins. " Hey, you're performing Serena." "Who am?" Being one of Elle's best friends and sorority sisters, there is no question Serena will have a major supporting role in *Legally Blonde 3*, although at this moment her character journey is unknown and will mostly rely on the script and story direction. Serena and Elle's characters will be in their 40s to 50s presently, hence she may be a working woman and even have a family. The film might also address her connection with their other best friend, Jessica Cauffiel's Margot; how much she and Elle will have maintained in contact is yet unknown.
