Jude Law has become a popular and acclaimed actor known for both his work in main stream media as well as his dynamic approach to character portrayals. He is a key element of a new streaming show called Skeleton Crew adding another popular form to an ever expanding career.
In this Star Wars series, Law plays the mysterious pirate Jod Na Nawood, a complicated character who also goes by the aliases Captain Silvo, Dash Zentin and Gorelox. He also known by Jodwick Zank and Crimson Jack. His character showcases both charms and also hidden menace which provides many layers for a new look in the Star Wars universe. Jod at first seems like a mentor for the child characters in the show as he was also on a challenging journey but he ultimately reveals a more selfish and sinister nature making him hard to predict for the audience. That adds suspense and a need to find more about what exactly drove this characters specific motivations in the narrative.
Viewers learn more of the background and history of Jod Na Nawood through subtle elements and hints throughout the series which leads to speculation of his early life with theories about how he got where he is now as an individual. Though some believe he is a former Jedi Youngling some have posed he had previous training and only retained knowledge for his own purposes.
There are comparisons to well known Jedi tenets with some of Jod's phrases making the idea of a connection a strong consideration in the storyline. Some viewers believe he was a Jedi who also fell out of favor for being unable to let go of emotion making his character complicated and unique. This type of moral grey space created more buzz with the programing and discussion.
In past episodes Jod initially offered comfort to Wim but ultimately his decisions were only about selfish need. This type of approach has viewers seeing multiple sides of him and questioning just exactly who is Jod. There were questions if he actually cares for the kids and where do his motivations stem from beyond immediate satisfaction or money gain.
The many projects he has played roles in has always included range and dimension to all his performances, however the versatility and dimension seen through his most recent roles showcase this even further.
Jude Law's presence in a production always includes some level of dedication that fans enjoy. From action packed to dramatic it is a unique set of talents he brings with each show he stars in which creates some anticipation each time he signs up for new project. All of this has added layers of credibility for every story line he represents.
The popular series “Skeleton Crew” is known to balance well with tech and special effect as well as incorporating puppetry which create old school feelings and newer design concepts which blend for both new and old Star Wars fans. Many known directors including the show's creator added all their own input for specific episodes which made each part even more interesting for audiences as each new show aired.
Directors like Lee Issac Chung has previously worked in popular productions including "The Mandalorian", bring expertise to shows that take place in outer space or outer worlds as his skill in directing for Sci fi is high quality. In this addition of his role the episode showcased personal one on one moments between characters which adds to this personal development in the show while being directed by top talent.
Though Law played a central part other elements of the show were a focus including the main team of four kids as well as side character dynamics all which contributed to the well known universe created by George Lucas.
Stephen Fry’s casting as “ The Supervisor ” became apparent with his notable vocals to the show creating further speculation as his identity is discussed. This character will help further understand what his plans will be.
