Jensen Ackles Returning for Tracker Season 2!
Trackers, get ready since Jensen Ackles is coming back for season 2! In one season 1 episode, Ackles portrayed Russell Shaw, the older brother of Justin Hartley's character Colter Shaw. The episode hinted at Ackles possibly returning, but his involvement in the Prime Video show Countdown left viewers wondering whether he would have time for Tracker.
Still, showrunner Elwood Reid reassured us Ackles would be returning for more than one episode! Reid declared, "We got him, he's coming back," during a panel at the summer press tour of the Television Critics' Association. That is a fantastic narrative; we are having fun with it.
Character of Ackles Is Part of Complicated Family History of Tracker
Ackles debuted in "Off the Books," Episode 12 of Tracker. Russell and Colter seem to get along nicely, but their troubled family background causes obvious conflict. The show revealed that Ashton, Colter's father (played by Lee Tergesen), maintained extreme paranoia and kept his family isolated in a compound. When Russell and Colter at last cross paths, this paranoia comes through.
Colter's father left their house in 2003 because of his paranoia; Russell followed. Later Colter discovered his father dead, apparently pushed by Russell. Russell has tried to get in touch with Colter since then, but their mother, Mary ( Wendy Crewson), seems to be against their contacts.
Russell and Colter get along on a case despite their turbulent past. Though apparently sudden, Russell promises to track Colter back and assist him in leaving his wandering way of life. Russell seems to be keeping his word based on the wild season 1 finale and this most recent update.
Based on the Jeffery Deaver book, Ben H. Winters developed an action-drama series for CBS. Traveling across the country in his RV, solitary figure with a troubled past Colter Shaw helps local police with mysteries and cases in every town he passes by.
