Superman: Son of Kal-El #2 by Tom Taylor, John Timms, Gabe Eltaeb, and Dave Sharpe featured Jay Nakamura's comic book debut. Jay has a shockingly potent intangible power. Jay's power is about as strong a defensive ability can get, yet having no true offensive aptitude. Even though Jay was directly in the center of the explosion that destroyed the Kent farm during Superman: Son of Kal-El, he escaped unscathed. Jay appeared to be impervious to all attacks, but in the DC Universe, intangibility has always had this flaw that has been observed previously.
One of the most formidable villains in the DC Universe, Reverse-Flash, confronts Batman in Batman / The Flash: The Button. It was difficult for Batman to hit Thawne because Reverse-Flash could make himself invisible with his speed. But Batman, the best investigator in the world, knew that Reverse-Flash couldn't be completely intangible if he was standing in front of him. Batman swiftly put a batarang into Eobard's foot keeping this in mind. Similar tactics are used by the Suicide Squad against Jay in the trailer for Absolute Power: Ground Zero.
Despite the impression that Jay is untouchable due to his Intangibility, this is regrettably untrue. One significant flaw in Jay's intangibility is that he cannot stand on the ground without being palpable. It just takes one bullet from a Suicide Squad member to pass right through his foot if he keeps turning his tangibility on and off while sprinting through the woodland.
Regardless of a DC character's strength, there is always a flaw to take advantage of. One of the most cunning and astute strategists in the DC Universe, Amanda Waller is use every tool at her disposal to eliminate any opposition to her ultimate takeover of Earth. Amanda Waller used the Suicide Squad to bring down Jay Nakamura using the same weakness that Batman had discovered in Reverse-Flash, and not even Superman could save him.
