Are There More Hobbit Ancestors in The Rings of Power?
We all know the Hobbits - like Frodo, Bilbo, and their friends. Now, The Rings of Power is digging into the deep history of the Hobbits - the Second Age, a time long before The Lord of the Rings!
Wait, How Are the Hobbits Related To the "Rings of Power"?
In the stories by J.R.R. Tolkien, we get three groups: the Harfoots, the Stoors, and the Fallohides. It’s actually all about their ancestry, way, way back when they roamed Middle-earth. In The Rings of Power, we are getting a super close look at their past - these Hobbit ancestors. The thing is that The Rings of Power might be a super ambitious way to bring all these story details from Tolkien’s books to the screen!
What's The Buzz About Stoors?
We are seeing a lot about those Harfoots - and in Rings of Power season 2 we get the Stoors - which makes total sense. We already got those Harfoots showing up in Rings of Power season 1, right? Those Stoors will be part of Season 2, which comes out August 29, 2024, and has tons of stuff planned.
What About The "Fallohides"?
Yep, they’re mentioned in "The Fellowship of the Ring"! It’s really cool - but now we are getting these ancestors from Tolkien’s world to come to life. There’s a chance those Fallohides will pop up as well.
- It looks like Amazon really wants to take those Hobbit characters to their roots! In The Lord of the Rings, it was all about Middle-earth history and these Hobbits had these fascinating connections to that world, too!
- What's interesting is that J.R.R. Tolkien only talked a little bit about these three Hobbit groups! It's kinda like the Great Shelf where the Fallohides hung out, but there wasn't much in detail! That was what gave those writers some flexibility for the Amazon series!
Now, The Rings of Power has gone a little different from what we've seen from Lord of the Rings movies. This series looks super cool because they really took on the challenge of exploring new story details for how Middle-earth's history actually went down, as if those The Lord of the Rings books are the main chapters, and now we're getting some spin-offs from a new era. And, if you are a Star Wars fan, this really does feel a little like it, as it's all about filling in those "in-between parts," making the entire story much deeper!
Remember "The Rings of Power" comes out August 29! Get ready to see what these amazing ancestors are up to! And maybe get those Hobbit backstories, and all those secrets from the Second Age. If you are a Lord of the Rings Franchise fan then you have to see what's coming.
