With HBO Max having announced that there will be a Harry Potter reboot coming out soon, the entire world of fans has been holding its breath in excitement! With so much happening right now with Warner Bros. taking a major move in revisiting this series of classic books from the mind of J.K. Rowling.
id="remake-with-no-need-for-modern-tech"> Remake With No Need For Modern Tech:While this show looks amazing so far! One thing that stands out to fans, and something everyone is talking about, is the desire from those creating the series that this will be an adaption that is truly based on the books. It looks like each one of J.K. Rowling's seven books will become their own individual seasons! If you ever thought some major parts of the movies were missing you may find an extra layer of depth in this adaptation!
But the whole universe that the stories unfold in is very much about a period set back in time. The idea of adding the most current technology just doesn't feel right and can make things pretty jarring for the audience!
When Harry Potter Began
There are actually some very distinct, historical references.
Take the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone! That has a lot to do with how things unfold! The timeline in this initial story in the series happens from 1991 to 1992. Then Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows brought this universe to 1998.
HBO may think, well if we bring this series to the modern era that will bring a new group of fans to the movies.
That just doesn't sound right, however. That’s the least interesting part of bringing something like Harry Potter to the big screen and could make the magic go away.
The Power Of Magic Over Technology:
No one could imagine how things might change with this magical world.
While Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the heroes of this series have amazing skills, their real power isn't technology but magical forces!
It would be out of place to see things like cellphones, laptops and other modern tools. That could clash in ways that are hard to imagine!
These elements are so special that no one could imagine them not being there.
- Imagine how different these movies would be if Harry Potter didn't use landline phones
- What if it was the standard cellphones from today's world
Why The Harry Potter Series Must Stay True
While everyone would love to see more from Harry Potter, you might find there's a lot more to the show that audiences have become obsessed with and what could change this! There are already talks that a series based on this world would take place, around 2026 and 2027, which would bring it to the next decade!
That would bring the modern world into Harry Potter in a way that wouldn't fit.
In fact, one thing that stands out. That this universe does lean so heavily on this nostalgic spirit.
Take Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. You won't find the film to feel too out of place in that sense! That was a perfect marriage to the spirit of Harry Potter! That could not be replicated! But what made it such a nostalgic ride?
The movies even set the tone with what made Harry Potter, such a magical adventure! Everyone felt it so much as a throwback to their childhood!
Nostalgia Makes The Series Even Better
You could imagine what this might do for audiences who may be young but grew up on Harry Potter and the new releases would revisit them to their memories of a childhood time, full of magical, epic and fun moments!
- Even HBO might feel tempted to make this a modern take!
- There's something very unique about keeping those elements that brought everyone to Harry Potter.
- That includes all the little details like the characters, locations and that includes those iconic stories.
- Everyone loves to go back to that wonderful period in time
You really can't replicate Harry Potter any other way.
The series was born into that unique period of time and bringing all of these elements back in some of the upcoming seasons would make a truly special experience. If you want to enjoy these incredible stories that bring so much joy and excitement, there is a lot of promise for HBO Max's latest series.
