Good Omens Season 3: The Shockingly Short Final Chapter

Get ready for some seriously unexpected news, Good Omens fans! Amazon Prime Video gave the green light to season 3 – but it's going to be WAY different than expected! This adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's beloved novel has become incredibly popular; especially that unexpected sequel released as a second season! It has become incredibly well-known for viewers; and now things take a wildly different direction.

Originally, a multi-episode season was planned which followed up after the events from season 2 – the amazing, surprising storyline and unexpected revelations and emotional breakthroughs that took place at that specific point greatly impacted audiences. There was some speculation about an unused sequel becoming season 2; but Gaiman confirmed that wasn’t the case. Instead, that unreleased material will go into season 3—although, those plans completely changed. Neil Gaiman’s recent troubles with accusations greatly altered everything; making changes to how production operates entirely.

After those very serious allegations; those extremely serious accusations concerning the show’s creator Neil Gaiman, Prime Video made the shocking decision: to pause production, and seriously rethink their plans – greatly affecting the direction the entire season would eventually go. Then came another shocker; this production ultimately reduced the entire season 3 into just a single, feature-length episode (approximately 90 minutes), making it even smaller than season 2; showcasing that Prime is moving to avoid association.

Some of Gaiman's earlier script is planned to be included;  but it remains a significant concern concerning exactly how it'll all work, whether or not the actual writer remains associated. That short-season choice, while perhaps an attempt to distance themselves from the associated controversies; made everything drastically change, leading to that surprisingly smaller final episode.

And that's not all: Production starts up in early 2025, that was said months ago. After everything changed, and Gaiman left the project. That final, shorter season format was planned, adding immense additional complexity, impacting the timeline and everything expected overall!  The final episode has that completely different approach.
