Introduced in Ghosts season 4 is a new Puritan ghost: patience. Comedian Mary Holland is performing her. Isaac's adversary is patience, which drives him mad. Though it was an accident, she is nonetheless offended that he abandoned her in a hole. Even Puritan standards, patience is said to be somewhat critical. She left her town and has been a feral beast prowling the ground since 1895. She will show up in several episodes since she is a recurrent character in the season.
Isaac's abandonment of her in a hole drives obsession with patience. She lacks knowledge that this was an accident. She is resolved to have Isaac pay as she thinks he is accountable for her current situation. One main cause of strife in the season is Patience's infatuation with Isaac. Her arrival upends Isaac's life, and she will probably be a thorn in his side all through the season.
Samantha's father is Frank. Dean Norris, most famously for his performance as Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad, plays him. Frank comes out as gentle and well-meaning. Along with his new lover, he is first visiting the Woodstone estate in years. Frank was mainly away from Samantha's life, so their relationship suffers. She hates him for not being there for her. For Sam, this will create a lot of conflict; but, she will at last face her emotions. Frank is a guest star, hence he probably only will show in a few episodes.
Frank and Samantha have a convoluted connection. Since he divorced her mother, they have battled to remain close. Sam is quite resentful of Frank for leaving her life. Frank is said to be friendly and well-meaning, nevertheless, so he most certainly wishes to mend his friendship with Sam. Though Sam and Frank have an uncomfortable relationship, she is at last ready to face Frank on their problems. Although both of them are striving to improve their relationship, this will be interesting since the circumstances is complicated with many unresolved problems.
Flower's and patience's complicated histories. Flower says she befriended Patience during their time both imprisoned in the well. Patience, meanwhile, is now fixated with Isaac and offended that Flower and the other ghosts omitted inviting her to his wedding. The extent Patience is ready to go to find Isaac surprises Flower. This suggests a past Flower has not yet unveiled. Patience and Flower clearly interact in a complex way that will affect the season.
Frank's coming marks Sam and her family's new chapter. Frank's presence will assist in some of Sam's years of coping with problems being resolved. He is there to be in Sam's life and try to rebuild his relationship with her. For the ghosts especially if they discover he knows they are there, his entrance could also provide some fresh difficulties.
