Yet he's constantly sidelined; the biggest problem being his inability to see or interact with the ghosts, often getting minor comedic subplots entirely separate from those major events of each storyline! While these instances of smaller, comedic plots do bring that much needed additional levity into what are frequently quite emotionally charged and difficult storylines. It remains ultimately detrimental to those who enjoy and have followed this character throughout that larger arc in which the core storytelling primarily focuses on those ghost-related plots and those emotional aspects inherent within them; this creates a stark division in Jay's development throughout that main storyline!

This upcoming storyline change promises to shake everything up. Ambudkar mentioned how this might dramatically affect this specific aspect, that it will be quite "fun" to finally give Jay a proper role amongst the others. Even something like the pointless task (digging for Patience's lair in the season 4 premiere) showed those frustrations and those missing plot elements inherent throughout those past interactions and how this newly added element to the main narrative might just fundamentally alter his interactions from hereon out. All because of one detail: his lack of ability to see those ghosts! This situation however needs that very simple resolution; granting Jay what he already longed for from earlier seasons!
