For All Mankind season 5: A New Generation Takes Flight!

For All Mankind Season 5: Officially Confirmed - Get Ready for Liftoff!

For All Mankind, Apple TV+'s amazing alternate-history space race drama, is returning for a fifth season! This was confirmed back in April 2024, and this is huge news for fans!   The show has been a critical darling since its debut, regularly earning near-perfect scores on Rotten Tomatoes, praising its creative re-imagining of historical events; and the intense and exciting way in which human relations are depicted within that incredibly stressful, constantly dangerous space environment that the series consistently portrayed throughout all its seasons.  Fans had been totally expecting this renewal, and it's easily one of Apple TV+'s longest-running original series.

What's even better is those hints toward even more seasons! Creators hinted about seasons 6 and 7 – even suggesting possible plans beyond those previously suggested in those comments to reporters! This suggests an enormous continued investment by Apple into this title – really showcasing just why they valued it this much.

The show cleverly reinvents itself every season, advancing one decade further to show a different perspective which allows these events to be reimagined each season and with more clarity given in those newly revealed details; this provides intense and unpredictable experiences across multiple eras, creating another exciting aspect.   Season 5 features plenty of new blood alongside possible returning cast members. Filming is ongoing (this article mentions that it remains ongoing).

  • Ines Asserson (Royalteen) joins as astronaut A.J. Jarrett.
  • Ruby Cruz (Willow) plays Lily Dale, Miles and Amanda's youngest daughter.
  • Sean Kaufman (The Summer I Turned Pretty) plays Alex Poletov BaldwinKelly and Ed's son.
  • Mireille Enos (The Killing) is cast as Celia Boyd, a member of the Peacekeeper Security Force.
  • Costa Ronin (The Americans) takes the role of Lenya, a former Soviet cosmonaut who became a politician. The cast is expanding; the creators and studio continue to show deep investment, signaling future growth.

Returning actors aren't confirmed fully, yet those existing character arcs already have major conflicts, yet that decade jump makes returning actors, like Joel Kinnaman (Ed Baldwin), Wrenn Schmidt (Margo Madison), and Krys Marshall (Danielle Poole) less likely due to the time-jump making these character’s arcs considerably older; this is important to note as these elements shape who exactly can remain on the cast; this further highlights what elements remained unchanged; for viewers and characters already familiar.

Season 4’s explosive ending gave way to a brighter 2012 time-jump.  But those underlying tensions and unresolved issues remain unchanged! We only got a slight reprieve! There are still plenty of opportunities that are completely available for the story to unravel.  Expect plenty of conflict to come! And considering the cast's restructuring; the possibility of younger characters taking control becomes very apparent; that could spark unexpected conflicts. We've been already hinted at that these kinds of themes might become important, focusing on some of these younger characters assuming power – it is really emphasized here and some people might’ve missed that previously suggested hint towards a possible power struggle that might come, depending upon the development.

Season 5 might emphasize those growing tensions and interpersonal issues amongst different entities. Those kinds of existing conflicts in prior seasons, already inherent within those existing power structures – private vs. public interests within that established space program; adding these interesting plot elements with new conflict added with these additional characters, as well as using existing characters.
