CBS's hit show, FBI, is returning for another season; this isn't some surprise considering the amazing success that this franchise is known for – created by the legendary Dick Wolf and Craig Turk, this action-packed procedural, is known and loved for exploring various kinds of high-stakes crime in New York City; showcasing the dedicated Special Agents in the NYC field office's criminal division! Every week brings new cases; along with the deep dives into personal lives of the whole ensemble cast. It makes it great!

FBI launched this amazing franchise on CBS; including FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International, yet despite all this immense success, the original FBI is still its beating heart. And CBS clearly recognized this value— giving FBI a three-season renewal (covering seasons 8, 9, and possibly more) in 2024! It secures FBI's future well into 2027! No more annual renewal anxiety! A three-season renewal? It is extremely rare, but certainly totally not surprising given how Dick Wolf's shows continue to do insanely well; those police procedurals? Seriously killer content! And the outlook beyond season 9 is incredibly positive! CBS is certainly looking to keep the action coming— there’s a massive chance this will carry on, like Wolf's Law & Order—the amazingly enduring long-runner, perhaps achieving another great success with the same level of sustained and enduring fame for years, maybe even decades to come! Those are incredibly high hopes.

It’s hard to say for certain before season 7 officially concludes. Here is some key data showing which members were definitely confirmed and available for future casting calls. Many may remain! These predictions are simply that, predictions. So what we can currently verify for certain includes that following Katherine Renee Kane’s departure in season 7 (no Tiffany Wallace in season 8), certain core members definitely are set to appear, which includes the return of beloved favorites such as Missy Peregrym as Maggie Bell and Jeremy Sisto as Jubal Valentine.

The entire core cast should still show up, however—expect those original players, plus newbie Lisette Olivera as Syd Ortiz, replacing Wallace, to still continue being significant. Then, add to the fact that most FBI episodes are largely independent and focus on weekly cases, meaning many won’t carry over, unlike those with overarching story plots which connect to each other; leaving the storyline open to many interpretations.
