Will Bridgerton Reveal An Eloise In Scotland Spinoff?
Bridgerton season 3 sets up a Spinoff centered on Eloise. Eloise has always marched to the beat of her own drum, uninterested in societal rules. She longs for something bigger in life. Eloise wants to impact the world and be more than a lady in the ton. Bridgerton season 1 focuses on Eloise's apathy regarding Daphne's debut and her search for Lady Whistledown.
Bridgerton season 2 continues Eloise's search for Lady Whistledown, and she learns about political ideologies. Eloise befriends Cressida in season 3, but by the end of the season, she is ready to change the world when she moves to Scotland with her sister Francesca, John, and Michaela. Eloise is clearly traveling for herself, and Scotland is just the most accessible because Francesca is moving there to begin her new life.
Eloise's Story Needs Her To Experience The World
The prospect of a series following Eloise around as she navigates life in Scotland carries a lot of promise. It's a concept that could work as a miniseries that explores Eloise's time there and the people she meets. Bridgerton already has a wildly successful Spinoff - Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. It is the perfect example of what an Eloise in Scotland spinoff could look like. Queen Charlotte mostly takes place in the past, but the present day overlaps with the Bridgerton timeline during the off-season.
Eloise should be expected to return to London during the season, but the off-season lasts nine to 10 months. Eloise's story needs more room to spread her wings and fly, and she can only do that by seeing the world.
Why Bridgerton's Possible Eloise Spinoff Would Break A Golden Rule
For the most part, Bridgerton takes place in London with the ton. Viewers have yet to see the Bridgerton world outside of London. An Eloise spinoff in Scotland would break BridgerTon tradition by stepping away from the ton. Eloise is not the only Bridgerton sibling whose romance spends time away from the ton. Benedict and Sophie's romance occurs in London, but Eloise's book features Benedict and Sophie living at My Cottage with their children during the off-season.
Eloise cannot travel alone as a single woman; she must have a chaperone. Scotland is the only way to escape the ton, so an Eloise spinoff would cut all ties from London. Naturally, Francesca's story also takes place in Scotland most of the time. When Michaela becomes the Earl of Kilmartin, it solidifies Scotland as Francesca's home.
