Cobra Kai Season 6: Could Kenny & Terry Silver Team Up for the Sekai Taikai?

A Cobra Kai Season 6 Betrayal Shows Terry Silver's Potential Returning Path

The opening Terry Silver needs to return into the fight against Miyagi-do could be a shocking betrayal in Cobra Kai season 6 part 1. Terry Silver's key betrayal in Cobra Kai season 6 part 1 lets him worm back into the picture. Played by Thomas Ian Griffith, The Karate Kid Part III villain vanished from sight following his loss in the Cobra Kai season 5 finale. Multiple theories, however, have long held that Silver will ultimately find himself involved in the show's last run even though his dojo is closed. Terry Silver's arrest isn't absolutely preventing him from returning, as Amanda was quick to point out in the season 6 premiere. She also suggested he might try to have the charges dropped. And, to be honest, that scenario is plausible. But his lack of support acts as a barrier to his comeback as well. After what transpired, Daniel La Russo contended, Silver cannot be a threat anymore. Daniel says, "no one's ever going to fight for that guy again." That assertion was most likely accurate at this point in the series, but conditions could have changed.

Devon's Cheating Could Send Kenny Back to Terry Silver

The closest Terry Silver had to a protégé during season five was Kenny Payne. Naturally, he lost Kenny as well as the rest of his students when his season 4 All Valley Karate Tournament cheating was discovered. Though Kenny seemed to be turning the page on that chapter in his life, losing his place on Miyagi-do's Sekai Taikai team will surely complicate those efforts. Having been let down by one of his colleagues and now on the sidelines observing the Sekai Taikai, Kenny might be open to another team-up with Silver. Kenny is incorrect about who was responsible, but right about being duped out of a chance to compete. Anthony is to blame, in his mind, and Terry Silver can use this erroneous view to get Kenny back on his side. Silver shares a dislike of a La Russo family member and can appeal to Kenny using that; it's not difficult to see Silver acting on Kenny's grudge against Anthony. Of course, the main reason the latter might find this alliance difficult to execute is what Kenny now understands about Silver. Still, showing regret for his deeds might strengthen his case. Furthermore, he already had a close relationship with Kenny; of all the senseis in the series, he is the only one who has ever tried to interact with Kenny, thus this could have a significant impact on whatever choice he finally makes in the last episodes of Cobra Kai.

Terry Silver and Kenny Payne are each other's ticket to the Sekai Taikai Tournament.

For the arcs of both characters in Cobra Kai, Kenny once more lets himself be taken under Terry Silver's wing make sense. It should not be overlooked that Silver first brought the Sekai Taikai under everyone's notice. His ultimate aim was to win, thus even if his arrest was a big setback, that does not mean he gave up. Turning to the same person he hoped would win it for him in the first place is arguably his best chance for obtaining what he wants. Kenny Payne Should Terry Silver be able to retrieve him, he may be able to rapidly compile a small number of other fighters to assist Kenny in the Sekai Taikai. Terry Silver could use his money to assemble a small team, much as he did in The Karate Kid III with Mike Barnes. Although entering the competition could be challenging, Kenny and Silver's involvement in securing admission for Cobra Kai could help them. This particular element might also affect Kenny's motivations. Kenny beat Hawk to guarantee a spot in the Sekai Taikai tournament for Cobra Kai, thus he could feel a chance to compete is due to him. The selection process Mike Barnes went through denied him that chance, which only stoked his need to take part whether or not Miyagi-do. For the same reason, Kenny could be the covert member of Kreese's Cobra Kai team; but, his pre-existing dynamic with Terry Silver makes a cooperation with him a more practical route.

A Terry Silver & Kenny Payne Team-Up Will Make The Sekai Taikai Even More Fascinating

Bringing Silver and Kenny back together for the Sekai Taikai will help the show resolve current conflicts instead of running the danger of Cobra Kai season 6 becoming overly crowded with storylines. While the pieces of the puzzle are now in place and there is no obvious place for that storyline to develop as long as they are in Barcelona without Anthony and Kenny, what happened to Kenny provided setup for Devon Lee's role in the fights to come? But if Kenny is present and actively involved, Devon's treachery could be a major story point during the tournament. The conflict between Silver and Kreese offers a far more expansive narrative with which to find resolution from such a turn-about. Kreese promised Silver in the Cobra Kai season 4 finale retribution, but he has not personally attacked him yet. Kreese's imprisonment stopped him from acting in any other way than from the shadows, hardly his style. Kreese should be free to personally strike out at Silver now he's on the loose, instead of supporting someone else in stopping him. A three-way race to win the Sekai Taikai seems like a fitting approach to carry on the dojo war in Cobra Kai season 6. The show's villain group basically split in two with Silver and Kreese's falling out at the end of season 4. Though the tournament's stakes and Kreese's personal arc demand Terry Silver to work his way back into the story, Silver's loss turned the show back to a two-pronged conflict. Kreese wants retribution on both Silver and Daniel's Miyagi-dojo, thus having Silver on hand would allow him to fight against all of his rivals. Though the Sekai Taikai should be an exception to the rule, historically there are only two dojos that count in The Karate Kid and Cobra Kai's karate contests. Miyagi-do and Cobra Kai would be off-putting as a world tournament to show as the only teams with any chance at winning. The Sekai Taikai should be an event where several parties are pertinent to the narrative if it is to feel as the largest tournament the franchise has ever hosted.
