The Ahmedabad District Child Protection Unit has released a notice for the concerts that limits access to all those under the age of 5. Children ages 5-18 are also required to wear earplugs in an effort to protect them from potential health risks relating to the show’s sounds and environment. A major focus point of concern for many are for safety for younger attendees.
This all came about because a petition was filed in by Professor Pandit Rao Dharenavar about loud sounds from concerts potentially causing harm to younger attendees. As a result of these safety concerns it led to the requirements given. All steps have to be taken to make sure those attending are going to have proper conditions and a positive experience.
Organizers and Chris Martin were informed that sound levels had to be below 120 decibels. There is also to be no child under the age of 5 to be allowed at the venue and for those between the ages of 5 and 18 the show has a policy of requiring them to wear protective hearing gear while they attend. With these specific guidelines organizers want to provide a safer experience and better protect younger viewers.
The concerts were thought to be not only beneficial for musical performance but a chance for Gujarat to grow tourism . Ahmedabad is now part of a greater conversation regarding big global artists. The Coldplay show is a major opportunity to showcase local cultural aspects while benefiting area economies and local businesses.
Ticket sales have shown that many of the people who will be attending the show are also traveling from other parts of the region creating a need for local hotels which have reported a large increase . Additionally all the support personnel needed will also grow area business and local job options to ensure a solid economic impact.
The high demand for these shows has created positive financial outlooks and will encourage future tours in India for other international acts to consider. Transportation, airlines, travel agencies, food and beverage, retailers and more are set to see financial increase in activity through large events like these.
With expectations for a global reach India will see tourism at many important cultural landmarks such as temples, wildlife refuges and world heritage sites. As the tourism sector expands local people and communities will also benefit. With a diverse demographic attending these events may generate future cross cultural exchanges and relationships.
