CBS's New Procedural Drama, Einstein TV ShowEinstein, a police procedural series on CBS, is about to return. Procedural series on CBS have been popular in the past, covering a variety of genres. Popular programs on the network right now include NCIS, Fire Country, and Blue Bloods. Since its launch, NCIS has proven especially successful, giving rise to spin-offs including NCIS: Sydney and NCIS: Hawaii. With Einstein, CBS hopes to return to the procedural genre. This television series is an adaptation of a German program that tells the tale of Albert Einstein's great-grandson, a brilliant guy who finds it difficult to fit in. He works as a professor for a while before getting into legal issues and helping the police solve crimes. Andy Breckman and Randy Zisk will develop the Einstein adaption for CBS.The Remaking of Einstein: An Examination of Its EvolutionEinstein has previously been adapted for an American audience. Renowned for their work on Monk, Zisk and Breckman showed interest in the series during its first run in Germany and even created a 2019 version. Still, this version of Einstein never came to pass, maybe because of COVID limitations. There was more work done to adapt Einstein. In 2020, the network created a different version of the police series in response to George Floyd's murder. Unlike the German Einstein, this version sought to offer a new viewpoint on law enforcement. In addition, the roles' genders were switched. According to reports, NBC was developing its own version of Einstein in 2018, under the direction of Carol Mendelsohn and Michael Reisz. The Development History of Einstein ExplanatedAfter a number of years away, Zisk and Breckman are again getting back involved with the project. Considering their previous experience writing screenplays for Einstein, or at least rough concepts, the road to development might be easier this time. The gender-swapped version that was in production might have served as an influence for CBS's current rendition of Einstein. Being a procedural with humorous undertones, the original series held appeal, indicating that CBS's new Einstein should have a lighthearted tone.
