Brody Jenner a prominent figure from various reality shows like "The Hills" and "Special Forces", is often noted for his personal and family dynamics and particularly his relationships with his father Caitlyn Jenner. His evolving relationship is shown while exploring aspects of his personal life.
In a recent episode, Brody opened up about his complicated upbringing and also his current feelings towards being a father. It showcases how personal experiences with his dad Caitlyn, played a huge role in his parenting. These moments are highlighted during his time on the show when it focused in on his inner thoughts.
Brody talked about his past during this show and stated how he grew up with little involvement from his father then known as "Bruce". Brody recalls being a child with writing notes of discontent that he did not feel as if his father prioritized important life events such as his birthday.
After finding out about the plan for Caitlyn’s transition Brody explained how some of that made parts of his life make more sense in the bigger picture of his fathers behaviors. However having a transition put in the public eye became an invasice feeling for Brody.
He also explained how many of their more private and genuine moments became very uncomfortable for Brody by the nature of what he went through publicly through a reality show.
Brody and his fiancée Tia Blanco welcomed their daughter Honey and he shared that becoming a parent is the beginning of the type of change he intends to make moving forward. Having her made him reflect on his own relationship with Caitlyn which helped him take steps in a new path for raising his family.
He explained to others on set that as a father, his priority would be the exact opposite by being actively present in his daughters life. Brody wants to showcase his commitment to raising his daughter by fully engaging in her daily experience and being more connected with her personally.
Brody had explained that recently Caitlyn offered him a sincere apology which impacted him emotionally and gave a new beginning in their relationship as it seemed a new type of communication was available for the both of them to reach.
Although challenges still persist his new found clarity and improved connection to his father seems to impact what steps he is going to take in his own path with fatherhood and to make improvements to the challenges that he was a part of as a child.
With experience from "The Hills", Brody shared that he always felt that the real version of himself was never shown. He shared his desire to focus on genuine growth as a person. With the understanding and vulnerability during his conversations on the show, he was ready to show how a show can have elements of genuine emotions that have the ability to transcend the show.
This show and his past experience in reality tv prompted him to want more in the way of authenticity and true representation to come from his screen time. He is now seeking out the growth of a man who is committed to being a father with more meaningful intentions and he wanted to take steps to present that with more clarity to his viewing public.
When Caitlyn went through her transformation, there were issues which caused an emotional disconnect between Caitlyn and Brody as shown when it was noted that Caitlyn canceled her planned attendance at what Brody referred to as his wedding. Although later it was found out that there was no marriage to speak of but a personal ceremony to express his partnership with his girlfriend at the time.
When this event took place during what is now considered one of the most crucial moments of growth for an adult that was planning a long term life time partnership Brody found the absence from his father very hurtful which is a sentiment he carried until his recent experience on “Special Forces".
