And what happened to Andie Bell? The Guide To Murder's Ending Designed For A Good Girl Expanded
Andie's death in two stages, and Pip learns the truth about that fatal night incrementally. Pip thinks Elliot Ward is the one who vanished Andie as she knows the printed threats she got come from him. She is half right. Following Mr. Ward to the family's former house, she thinks he is keeping Andie alive. But although Elliot tells Andie he has a relationship, she is not the one he is keeping hostage. Pip, the girl, just has one link to the matter: she discovers looks exactly like Andie.
Elliot also acknowledges that he and Andie argued on the night she vanished, saying she became physically aggressive when he turned away her money. He remembers shoving Andie away, then tells Pip she struck her head against the counter. But Elliot claims Andie left his house alive, and he's not sure what occurred next. Surely thanks to Ravi's whereabouts, Elliot is arrested by the police, who also save the girl in his attic. Though in the novel Mr. Ward and the girl really believe she is Andie, the show doesn't explore why he kept her there.
Early in the last episode of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Pip confronts Mr. Ward, setting up all of this. Pip discovers at the last scene of the show that Mr. Ward isn't the only culpable party in Andie's disappearance. Pip notes that he wasn't the only one giving her threats since Elliot and his children were out of town the day her dog died. She visits Andie to find that someone else killed her following her altercation with Mr. Ward. Pip's sights now turn to the rest of the Bell family.
The Bell you least would suspect to kill Andie is the one who did it. Becca
And the Bell you least would think is Becca, the one who actually killed Andie. Pip discovers that Andie's sister was drugged and attacked during a Calamity Party; the narcotics used were the same ones Andie was peddling. Becca confesses to Pip she informed Andie what happened and was received with self-interest. And to further things, Andie intended to leave Becca with their abusive father. In a flash of wrath, Becca pushed Andie; paired with her concussion, it was enough to kill her. Becca watched and participated from sidelines.
Becca thus tries to assassinate Pip when Pip questions her and almost succeeds. Claiming Pip concealed Andie's body in an isolated cave, she drugs Pip and lures her there. Luckily Ravi and Cara get to them in time to prevent Pip from turning into yet another case victim.
Who Actually Murded Sal Singh From A Good Girl's Guide To Murder?
Mr. Ward does acknowledge to killing Sal Singh, even if he did not give Andie Bell the lethal blow. Sal's murder is supposed to appear as suicide since Elliot thinks it will keep the cops concentrated on Andie's boyfriend over him. He is the one forwarding the Sal's phone confession text, and his scheme almost works. The town readily thinks Sal is the one responsible for Andie's death; nobody challenges this until Pip. For Sal, Elliot's punctuation in the book seems so out of character; Ravi and Pip discover he didn't forward it.
At the end of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder Pip gets justice for Sal, which is one of the several hints suggesting his innocence. Though it looks she had some affairs before she vanished, Elliot seems to be the older man Andie was seeing. Still, practically all of the roads wind back to Elliot. As Pip reminds him, he bears most of the Andie Bell case's tragedy's responsibility.
Why Max Lied To The Police About Sal's Alibi? Naomi
Though they are the killers in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Elliot and Becca are not the only ones hiding secrets all through the Netflix series. The succeeding episodes show that Sal's original alibi for the evening Andie died did indeed hold true. Naomi and Max lied about him leaving their group early as someone ready to dredge their past threatened them. Sal's companions allegedly participated in a drunken hit-and-run almost killing a man. Max covered it, but someone knew and used it against him.
That someone is Elliot Ward, who perused the diary of his daughter. Mr. Ward convinced his daughter and her friends to lie about Sal's alibi as framing Sal was the only way he could cool off himself. Pip knows he was still with them past midnight, hence Sal is really innocent.
Why Pip is so committed to resolving Andie Bell's missing-persons case?
Pip's actions in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder pay off by the ending of the Netflix episode, but she is somewhat fixated on the case—more than you would expect an uninvolved adolescent girl to be. This begs problems concerning Pip's intense belief in Sal's innocence. And the show shows this over time, returning Pip to his flashbacks from right from beginning. In the flashbacks, a younger Pip watches Andie passing past her locker while crying. Pip informs Sal where Andie went when Sal asks, and this weighs on her once she knows Sal is presumably the killer.
Pip thus feels driven to prove Sal's innocence for her own sake as well as for his. For whatever reason, she believes her choice could have influenced events five years ago. She is clearly mistaken about that as well. Sal followed Andie to talk about going away together, just at the end of the finale. This is a departure from the text, but it makes their premature deaths far more sad.
How Different The Ending Of A Good Girl's Guide To Murder Is From The Book
At the end of A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, Holly Jackson's book still mostly consists of the same themes; but, the Netflix series increases the drama for the last episode. Pip's interactions with Mr. Ward seem less weighty in the novel; in fact, the one at the police station never occurs. Becca never brings Pip to a far-off location either. Becca drugs the book's lead at the Bell household, which facilitates family intervention for Ravi and Pip far more easily. Though its ending is comparable in terms of significant narrative points, the show lacks several important events.
Driven teenage detective Pip Fitz-Amobi sets out to find the truth behind schoolgirl Andie Bell's death five years ago. Before his own death, Andie's boyfriend Sal Singh admitted; Pip doesn't think he's guilty though. Working with Sal's brother Ravi, she probes a web of secrets in search of the actual killer.
