Sunny Hostin is a co-host of "The View" who often draws attention because of her opinions and strong stances on different topics. She has received acclaim from her many viewpoints over the years as well as controversy during various moments on live TV.
Recently Hostin garnered public attention after discussing the January 6th riots alongside other events from history. In response to all of this commentary, she has maintained her voice and stance on issues with her own style and personality.
During a January episode of "The View" Hostin spoke on the topic of what January 6th represented and called it one of the worst events in history, equating the riots to WWII, the Holocaust, and slavery. These comparisons were viewed as controversial. This brought responses with many criticizing and others who applauded her for speaking up.

Hostin often shows a left-leaning perspective in her comments, which also lead into past stances where she called Kamala Harris moderate despite past ratings saying Harris was far left. However recent events has allowed her to change her view as noted by other analysts who claim she appears to rethink her stance in modern times. Her own comments are now becoming something to watch.
Hostin has stated in previous interviews and times that some groups may have caused specific negative outcomes which would now show her in a different view when compared to more current events. Those that had previous negative views from prior events are now more favorable toward her due to these moments of honesty.
Many viewers have spoken on both sides of how to interpret her opinions on TV. Many called her statements vile. Some on social media reacted negatively to what was stated by her as a strong disagreement. Others have voiced agreement for bringing up topics which can show what the true scope of a story may actually look like.
Many on both sides called her comments unhinged or called her a name after making statements she had presented. The many sides all offered different areas of perspective on the story she presented in a way which showed what side of each discussion they were in with regard to their understanding. While many called for more measured approaches she continued her passionate speech.
During her show following the holidays she gave small tokens as a way to build a sense of connection with the other co hosts as well as to the viewers. She shared a story from Puerto Rico while handing out her tokens of friendship. This gesture highlights that while political topics come into question the interpersonal connection that these ladies on “The View” share with each other.
It was noted that her co hosts made light of her actions and poked fun at the style of gifting from a local chocolate vendor while on TV which showcased how comfortable they are with one another while still having differences in other areas. The playful tone helped keep the show unique with this approach in particular.
The show is notable for having multiple topics be brought up in each episode with the main theme often changing daily. Some topics which were discussed range from previous president's , public reactions, along with hot topics in the political scope for each new area.
Many of the co hosts also use the stage as a form of showing their perspectives using different forms of communication such as style and unique clothing choices to help show their message visually which all can range on many different takes of all subjects. This approach gives an extra layer of information for viewers to explore while watching this show.
