The show has consistently showcased issues of the show forgetting important details within the narrative when focused upon characters outside of Claire and Jamie who are known to hold immense focus from a fanbase that cares greatly for these lead actors and their scenes.

Jane a sex worker has located William at a British Army encampment in Pennsylvania following William’s departure from the Battle of Saratoga as part of parole. Jane and her sister Fanny now request his assistance from Captain Harkness and his evil actions which were showcased previously when he acted violently toward Jane who must seek refuge as result from these actions. Jane ends up murdering Captain Harkness to protect Fanny. William a moral man who will not turn Jane and Fanny to the authorities is helping them even when knowing this will hinder his travel to New York this sets up a very predictable plot device that also has a potential to endanger William as it delays him from reaching his goal.
Bree's Time Travel Plans and the Never Ending Rob Cameron Saga and the Search for Roger In 1739
Brianna deals with a persistent Rob Cameron in 1980 who had sent associates to rifle through Lallybroch in Scotland while his tracking devices follow her moves to the safe house at Ernie and Fiona’s. Brianna feels she only has option left which involves transporting herself Jem and Mandy through the stones to re-join Roger. Unfortunately Brianna doesnt know is that Roger is also currently in 1739 with travel plans of his own back through stones so this adds more suspense with what could potentially be upcoming reunion. This series also has recurring problem of shoehorning in characters within Brianna’s and Roger’s storyline as time jumps provide awkward pacing often in show production and viewer enjoyment.
Jamie Claire and Lord John Grey Reunited Amid Rising Tensions in Revolutionary War Time
Jamie and Claire come back into the spotlight in the episode bringing in familiar tension in ongoing series saga alongside Lord John Grey that also provides very important commentary on issues regarding revolution. Lord John takes an oath swearing allegiance to the United States after previous oath never to follow or agree with American independence and soon arrives at Jamie’s camp now acting as General and subsequently surrenders directly into his custody despite operating under false identity of Bertram Armstrong. Claire seems visibly worried over John’s physical state since his prior confrontation and imprisonment during the battle.
