There has been some build-up to it but fans seem to think that Brainiac is going to show up. It all starts with Lex Luthor and that cage, that he keeps Superman's heart in. Todd Helbing the showrunner, even confirmed that this is on purpose, creating excitement for those waiting!

It seems like another huge villain is making their entrance! Even though season 4 had big villains like Lex Luthor and Doomsday!

Tom Cavanagh as Brainiac:

Fans have some crazy thoughts! Many seem to think the talented actor, Tom Cavanagh, could be the next Brainiac. The actor had some well-loved roles such as Reverse Flash and Harrison Wells, across several seasons on The Flash!

This casting makes total sense! Not only would it make the last Arrowverse series something epic. Superman & Lois, and even Cavanagh would get another impressive credit to add to his already impressive career as an actor.

Todd Helbing hinted at this through TVLine. It looks like Helbing stated there is a "significant character" coming into the series, saying you hear this character, and this same character keeps coming back until we finally get to see them.
This character, the villain is likely Brainiac and another noteworthy mention was from Brent Fletcher! Fletcher talked to Entertainment Weekly and says this villain hasn't been seen in other projects, and really is something fresh, something everyone can look forward to.
Then at the San Diego Comic-Con back in 2024, Helbing describes Cavanagh's new character as one that "somebody met Tom Cavanagh and then created the character. The creators loved his work so much, they suggested that they should just get him to play the role! This is truly one that excites all of Superman & Lois' followers!

Especially as Brainiac hasn't appeared in so many live action DC series and films, he could give Superman & Lois a brand new and powerful experience that would help keep viewers coming back! Not only would it add intensity it would also tie this last installment of Superman & Lois with some of the other DC universes with one big cameo from Tom Cavanagh!
