Superman & Lois: That Superpower Theory We ALL Hoped For Just Became Canon!
Superman & Lois has given us some of the best DC Universe stories ever! And season 4 just confirmed a seriously cool superpower theory! This all takes place after that huge beginning moment, that seriously unexpected and very tragic death that impacted how the series progressed! This really shook things up for viewers and makes everything a whole lot more unpredictable and really, seriously, shocking!
The new season's been awesome; a totally brutal Lex Luthor, great character development from everyone in theKentfamily, which all continues to explore some important character developments surrounding that intense, highly impactful event. Many fans wished for a continuedspin-off after this finale episode, showing just how beloved and great those involved and this storyline really was! This whole arc ends when those exciting new DC Universe projects begin next year. This might mean thatSuperman & Loisbecomes thelast of the Arrowverse—giving a satisfying end.
Recent episodes showJonathan(Jordan Elsass) under serious emotional strain. That death—his father’s andLex Luthor’s taunts really pushedJonathanto the edge! Episode 3 shows his powers surfacing as a result! This perfectly explains why his abilities appeared way later than his brother Jordan’s.
There had been plenty of teases and subtle hints prior to the recent storyline developments, hinting that these changes may happen; showcasing those dramatic possibilities. Seeing those abilities emerging after such grief was hugely effective. It provides rationale toJonathan’sdelayed powers compared to Jordan. That means things will get super exciting with Jonathan now using powers! This also sets up that awesome tension we all really eagerly anticipate! A good moment in a highly emotional sequence of events.
Jordan(Alex Garfin) got powers early– during thatSmallvilletrip inseason 1. Moments like his rage-fueledfirepit outburst were chilling, especially for those aware of his later development. It is critically important to fully comprehend how both Jordan and Jonathan received their powers to understand the significance surrounding Jonathan’s emotional moment.
Jonathanhas also had multiple moments triggered through those emotional extremes that also caused an emergence of those key abilities; and the emotional impact also directly impactsJordan’sstory—especially the intense pressures created through his perceived role in his brother’s shadow, the pressure he feels to always remain second fiddle!
Linking powers to emotion isn't uncommon. ThinkSpider-Man(especially inSpider-Man 2). Yet it’s especially true with Supermanlore. Clark'sconcerns over power and emotions got examined heavily inSuperman & Lois season 3and also inMy Adventures With Superman— showing his added strength when protecting loved ones: "Whenever I’ve needed to protect someone I care about, I get stronger. I always thought it was a Kryptonian thing." This helps add reality.
This approach works, folks! Making powers feel real. Those massive superhuman abilities really become more understandable— especially through emotions like love, loss, grief, these feelings are also something those involved experienced very profoundly and are made real through human vulnerability that made this plot much more intensely compelling.
Superman & Loisstarted off really intense and brought in these truly amazing story lines, highlighting those complex elements of its cast of characters! We see these amazing characters coming into their own powers which really does deliver what was already set up at the start of the series! The emotional core made those moments and storylines highly impactful; creating those really dramatic confrontations with really memorable moments.
This arc has been phenomenal! Every remainingSuperman & Loisepisode's going to be electrifying! With the legendarySupermanuniverse coming together; every storyline, event and revelation remains crucial in bringing a memorable conclusion to that hugely successful storyline and we anxiously await to see what happens at the end; as we eagerly await those moments and possibilities; remembering the core message: theKentfamily emerges incredibly strong.
