Originally showing in June 2013, Street Outlaws ran for 15 seasons before its cancellation. Several spinoffs from the show have emerged; some of which still air today. Among these spinoffs are Street Outlaws: Fastest in America; Team Attack; Endgame; New Orleans; and more. The first series centers on a group of Oklahoma street racers who tune their vehicles and engage in illicit street racing events. Along with highlighting their fascinating and sometimes dubious personalities, the show tracks their rivalries, victories, and losses. But among the most moving narratives in the show is the death of Tyler "Flip" Priddy early on in its run.
Tyler, "Flip" Appearing in the first season, Priddy was a mainstay of the original Street Outlaws cast. Born in Chickasha, Oklahoma—the hometown of the show—Priddy was renowned for his unique 1980 Chevy El Camino. The car became among the most famous models in the series and was much sought after. Additionally cast in the first season of the show were his long-time friends Justin "Big Chief" Shearer and Chris "Kamikaze." Often competing against one another, Priddy and Shearer were well-known for their fierce rivalry.
Tyler ("Flip") Tragically dying on May 28, 2013, Priddy was 31 years old and just weeks before the series premiere. The cast and crew suffered a great vacuum upon his death. The show has suffered since his passing since it is often discussed even in later seasons. The legacy of the show now revolves much on his death. Chris "Kamikaze" inherited Priday's car following his death. The car stays a mainstay of the series.
Priddy's family and friends have never publicly shared the facts around his death. Still, internet conjecture has been around for years. Although his loved ones have kept their anonymity since his death, they have disproved the theory that the cause of death was racing-related.

Though they have not spoken on social media, the Street Outlaws Facebook page paid a tribute to Priddy following his death. Street Outlaws also debuted a throwback episode in May 2021 examining the history of the show and paying homage to Priddy. This honoring acted as a moving reminder of his influence on the show.
