While we all mostly think ofStephen Kingfor his scary horror stories,Fairy Taleis different— pure fantasy, not horror! He's explored fantasy before; however, his horror stuff remains the focal point in most adaptations. It is, however, noteworthy that the use of non-horror plot points inKing’sown productions (likeThe Green MileorThe Shawshank Redemption) has actually met with enormous critical and financial successes; meaning that using thefantasyelement withinFairy Talecould present a huge win for A24.
