Unquestionably, Sonequa Martin-Green's influence on Star Trek is evident
Unquestionably, Sonequa Martin-green deserves recognition for her powerful job leading Star Trek: Discovery. By the end of Discovery season 3, Martin-Green, the first African-American woman to be the lead in a Star Trek series, saw Michael Burnham becoming the first Black female Captain. As Michael Burnham, Martin-Green presented a clever, sympathetic, and driven main character who was also flawed and worked to grow himself. The core of Star Trek: Discovery was Burnham's relentless bravery and her key romance with Cleveland Booker (David Ajala); Sonequa's skill and passion changed what a Star Trek lead character might be.
Thanks to Sonequa Martin-green and Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek is better.
Patrick Stewart and other Star Trek icons provide Sonequa Martin-Green, the Star Trek: Discovery lead, with floral inspiration.
Sonequa on Star Trek: Discovery Patrick Stewart and other Star Trek icons paid honor to Martin-Green; their poignant words set Discovery's series producer in tears. Leading star of Star Trek: Discovery, Martin-Green has finished five great seasons as Captain Michael Burnham. Discovery paved the streaming universe of Star Trek on Paramount+ with five additional TV shows, a streaming movie, and plenty more Star Trek on route. The Star Trek: Discovery team praised Martin-Green as a real leader both on and off-screen, so she became a favorite.
The Ready Room's host, Wil Wheaton, also organized an event honoring the Star Trek: Discovery series finale. Gathering a few Star Trek luminaries—Patrick Stewart, Michelle Hurd, and Jonathan Frakes— Wheaton shocked Martin-Green by honoring a poignant Sonequa and her ongoing influence on Star Trek. Their remarks are here together with a The Ready Room video:
With the finale of season five, Star Trek: Discovery wraps up the Progenitors treasure quest and an epilogue closing the series.
Patrick Stewart: Sonequa possesses the attributes I found difficult to reach during The Next Generation's first season. She is in charge and a leader, however behind that space captain is a human being.
Michelle Hurd: Sonequa, portraying Michael as the captain, what difference she has made for all these young Brown and Black boys and girls? She has given them permission to be captains.
To me, Jonathan Frakes is among my favorite people; he is kind, spiritual, present, hilarious, generous. One finds a jewel in Sonequa Martin-Green.
Jonathan Frakes Deepens on Variations of Various Star Trek Eras as a Director
Unlike the Rick Berman era's luck of the draw, where directors were assigned episodes based on what the producers believed they would excel at, the fact that there are simply less Star Trek episodes produced in the streaming era than in Star Trek's syndication and broadcast network era, all of which started with Star Trek: Discovery. The cinematic visual style of the new shows, where directors like Jonathan Frakes are encouraged to "shot to thrill,"

Paramount+ has Star Trek: Discovery's fifth season accessible.
Jonathan Frakes said, "Very Surprised." His TNG episode informs the basis of Star Trek: Discovery's fifth season.
Based on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation he oversaw, Jonathan Frakes described his "surprised" reaction to Star Trek: Discovery based season 5's story. Including the penultimate episode of season five—and the series—"Lagrange Point," Frakes has helmedially directed eight Star Trek: Discovery episodes. Since he joined as a director for season 2, Jonathan has always considered Star Trek: Discovery his "home" Star Trek on Paramount+ show; nonetheless, Frakes didn't envision Discovery season 5 pulling its premise from one of his TNG episode.
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Jonathan Frakes stated why he was "pretty surprised" that Star Trek: Discovery season 5 follows Star Trek: The Next Generation season 6 episode, "The Chase." Frakes also talked on how guiding the current Star Trek series varies from Star Trek in the 1990s era under Rick Berman. Please find his quotation here:
Discovery Star Trek: An Inheritance of Inclusion
Setting the tone with Sonequa Martin-Green, Star Trek: Discovery is known as the most inclusive series ever produced. Discovery included first married gay couple in Star Trek, Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) and Commander Paul Stamets (Anthony Rapp). First nonbinary and transgender performers and characters in Star Trek, Discovery brought Adira Tal ( blu del Barrio) and Gray Tal ( Ian Alexander). Though it tackled crucial questions that shaped Captain Burnham and her crew's development, Star Trek: Discovery created grand narratives with galactic stakes. Thanks to Sonequa Martin-Green and Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek is clearly better.
Paramount+ is streaming Star Trek: Discovery's season finale.
