Just Who Is Behind Susan Twist's Many Visits?
Susan Twist has been among Season 14's most extensively theorized questions following her introduction in the second episode of the 60th-anniversary as Sir Isaac Newton's (Nathaniel Curtis) maid Miss Merridew. There have been rumors about whether Twist's appearances are owing to being a humanized TARDIS akin to season 6's Idris (Suranne Jones), with S. Triad anagram of the vessel's name, while Davies quipped that her frequent appearances are merely due to a shortage of supporting actors. Official teasers and comments, however, suggest far older forces at work.
In a piece endorsing Season 14, Davies said that the penultimate episode will use Third Doctor era Jon Pertwee characteristics. It turns out to be centered on Twist since secrets kept in UNIT's vaults link to her and Ruby's past. Moreover, a fresh Tales of the TARDIS episode will be aired between "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" and the climax "Empire of Death." Given the pyramids behind the Twist duplicate and Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor era absent from the 2023 episodes, there is conjecture that Sutekh the Destroyer may be behind the enigma with the spin-off revisiting the 1970s villain's premiere.
Doctor Who Season 14 Trailer: Susan Twist Takes Center Stage in Adventure Episode 7 via Ncuti Gatwa
Along with new and returning Doctor friends, Susan Twist's mysterious observer takes front stage in the Doctor Who season 14 penultimate episode Trailer. As the sixteenth reincarnation of the Time Lord joined by Millie Gibson's new friend Ruby Sunday, Ncuti Gatwa leads the most recent season of the cherished long-running science fiction series. But season 14 boasts another recurring star since Twist has portrayed a new character in every Doctor Who episode since 2023's "The Church on Ruby Road" and hasn't gone unnoticed by either time traveller.

Doctor Whose: An Old Reviewed
Originally originally televised in 1963, Doctor Who is a sci-fi series about the Doctor—a powerful entity known as a Time Lord. Traveling time and space with different companions, the Doctor solves several problems and helps prevent catastrophe as much as he almost causes using an interdimensional time-traveling ship called the TARDIS. Though the Doctor is always the same character, they regenerate to be recast every few seasons as a different immortal being with fresh personality traits.
Given how masterfully Davies performed on his last term as showrunner, viewers have been ready for his return to the show. The franchise is eager about the fresh ideas the showrunner will bring to the series since Davies indicated he plans to use UNIT more often. UNIT might take the stage in fresh stories; perhaps the showrunner will be able to bring the production back alive.
Watcher Secrets: Notes
Along with two additional hideous doppelgängers, the teaser summarizes Twist's other visits in former episodes. Then it comes to light that Susan Triad, supposedly original, is afraid of her duplicates. Although UNIT allies both old and new—including Jemma Redgrave's Kate Stewart, Bonnie Langford's Mel Bush, and Yasmin Finney's Rose Noble—will help the Doctor and Ruby, a terrifying menace arrives that leaves the unified heroes terrified.
Whichever person is behind Twist's return, it is evident that "The Legend of Ruby Sunday" will be a significant chapter in the general arc of season 14. Between returning characters and long-awaited responses to two of the most important questions of the season, Davies has also hinted that the last two chapters of Gatwa's maiden season will be a sad story ready for Doctor Who season 15. Thus, the penultimate chapter of season 14 looks to be a packed one that will at last reveal what causes have left Twist dispersed over history.
Though Susan Twist's contributions in Doctor Who season 14 have ranged in importance, "Rogue" features her most subdued appearance on the show yet.
