Savannah Guthrie is well-known television personality , journalist and lawyer. Her story shows how people change over the years to reach great heights.
Born in Australia Savannah later moved to the U.S. at a young age to reside in Tucson Arizona. This is an element of her story that is noted as “exotic” and adds to her character while growing up.
Savannah was also greatly affected by her father's passing. She says he was both strong, and sometimes scary, but ultimately gentle and tender to those he cared for which would become an integral part of how she moved through life. Growing up in a close knit family they would also learn new challenges as her family provided emotional support during major life changes.
She graduated from University of Arizona, staying at home because of financial reasons, along with her strong ties to her mother and sister. Later during this time period she went on to study journalism which would lead to a passion and drive for goals of becoming something unique in this field.
At first not a big "go getter" when she found journalism she then went on to pursue all challenges ahead with gusto and drive which has shown the major transformation she had taken in a journey. This new found path was something that pushed her towards all goals.
Her first professional opportunity as a journalist came when she got a job offer which was an opportunity in Butte, Montana. She also made time in her career to explore law. Ultimately, Savannah found her place back in television news.
Although working as a law clerk for a federal judge was not “her dream” she eventually went back to her roots. There was something pulling her into media which she found would give an avenue for future dreams in this field. This choice showed her what was true for her as a passion.
As a host of “Today” her impact continues to grow as she is constantly delivering stories and news from across the globe with an authentic delivery style which appeals to her demographic.
Her new co-host is Craig Melvin whom she is looking forward to working with on the next level. They previously have worked together but are now colleagues with much history as close friends which will lead into an interesting direction moving forward.
While publicly a popular TV host, Savannah is also dedicated to her family. She balances that alongside motherhood which has had some challenging and difficult life moments.
She had an emotional discussion on the show with her co-host Jenna Bush Hager where she described all that her mother had to sacrifice while helping care for their family. These moments provide insights into her perspective and also bring more real life aspects to who she has become.
With every new venture she continues to be true to herself and continues to grow in areas she values and is seen to be actively pursuing new challenges which enhance the public view.
She recently released a memoir called “Mostly What God Does: Reflections on Seeking and Finding His Love Everywhere” The book reveals an insight on her faith along with personal experiences that showcase who she is as an individual in a public setting.
