Mayim Bialik is an accomplished actress known for her roles in various tv series. With her diverse work this makes her a well know and recognized individual in many circles. She has recently been a topic of discussion for new projects while staying grounded to her personal values and career.
Many have expressed great curiosity surrounding a potential reboot for the show "The Big Bang Theory" as there are discussions for a spinoff series being developed. As a previous series regular questions are being asked if Mayim Bialik could make a reprisal of her iconic character. While no contact has been made at this point Bialik states she would love to have the opportunity to bring back the character.
Bialik has publicly shared she has much gratitude for her role as Amy and she does find joy in playing a character that was so impactful. She has maintained good communication with writers, producers which makes her an even greater fit to reprise that role if she is ever given the opportunity. She also notes her previous experience on "Young Sheldon" as being very enjoyable.
While waiting for developments on "Big Bang Theory" Bialik took a guest starring role on Night Court where she collaborated with former "Big Bang Theory" costar Melissa Rauch. The story revolved around Bialik playing a "heightened" and "twisted" version of herself. The entire creative process was something that Bialik was more than happy to help with. This character development came from a past friendship in which they made contact from shared dressing rooms to now acting beside one another once more.
This collaboration with Melissa Rauch stems from both friendship and respect which allowed for both actors to enjoy an unique time with each other and to portray characters who both played different versions of themselves in the process. These dynamics are often requested by viewers. It created new layers in acting roles that weren't previously thought of.
Bialik explored how easy it is to portray a version of her real self even in an exaggerated method because all of the background info for the character is known and real. Yet with playing an exaggerated version there is a certain concern of what others will now think that portrayal and if the actor may be too different from their core identity.
Although portraying ones' self can have an element of ease it becomes challenging to still grow in that space. Bialik describes her view with a mix of challenge but also fun as new directions in portraying a known person came into the focus. She is an artist in character, no matter who she portrays.
Bialik shares different sentiments from co-star Jim Parsons regarding a Big Bang Theory reboot . Her sentiment comes from understanding how much people loved those roles and would like to revisit the series which would be an amazing accomplishment.
Despite Parsons' public statements about how a reboot would be too difficult she does not dismiss that possibility if time allows it or the opportunities appear. She mentions how much she respects and values The Big Bang Theory cast but would personally be eager to participate if time and resources permitted. This showcases different perspectives between both parties and their willingness to return.
Even though many fans would like to see the series return it is known that Parsons’ character as Sheldon is a vital component to the storyline and his participation is vital to any reboot attempt. Though all other members seem ready to step back into that arena without that main element it would change how the show was remembered.
While currently there are not any active production the shows continued presence through streaming has made viewers still want the series to continue. Even with Parsons not wanting to return, others in production do acknowledge how this may not fully mean a reboot will never happen and there is still potential to be made.
