Movies News Talk
Speaking just to Screen Rant, Dillon discussed the tragedy of Mike McLusky's mother Mariam, who perished in the brutal gunfight at the end of Mayor of Kingstown season 2, and what her fate implies for Season 3. Here are his comments:
The thing about it that intrigues me in how we absorb death and devastation and violence with our loved ones is that those are the nuances of human feeling that I am discussing. We're not drawing any lines, hence living portions of that with friends who have passed away—either violently or not—is interesting for us. And then the second thing that when Taylor [Sheridan] and I initially started this show and discussing it, we wanted to make it genuine and authentic and a movie, and to accomplish that, you have to start with no one is safe and nothing is holy.
Hugh Dillon, series co-creator, answers Mariam's Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 fate following season 2 cliffhanger.
This was about 15 years ago, Taylor had that opening of Mitch before we even realized Kyle Chandler would be playing Mitch, getting pulled out right away. And that was like 2004 or '05, just that first thing; it was long ago. And since that is where we live, where I am in reality and with people, places, and objects and friends, that has been our north star ever since. Though life is erratic and delicate, for some reason we believe it isn't.
