Voight actor Dawson's possible Chicago PD return addressed following a viral reunion picture
Playing Hank Voight, Jason Beghe talks on the background of Jon Seda's reunion with his former Chicago Pd co-stars and explores Antonio Dawson's return possibilities. Every year intelligence seems to be declining, with notable deviations occurring. Although not the first major character to leave the show, Seda's Dawson being written out in Chicago PD season 6 set the pattern in some sort. Intelligence has gone on from that loss since then, but because his fate was left off, there is always possibility he will return and play Dawson once more.
Beghe discusses in an interview with Screen Rant about Reverse the Curse how Seda ended up attending the wrap party for Chicago Pd season 11, as shown in viral pictures of the two with Jesse Lee Soffer and Benjamin Levy Aguarial. Turns out, he invited his former co-star to the event. Although Voight says he will be quite glad if Seda joins One Chicago, he cannot say if Dawson is scheduled to return to Intelligence. Please find his whole quote below:
Why would the ideal time to bring back Antonio Dawson be Chicago PD Season 12?
Seda belonged to the original One Chicago cast. Chicago PD debuted him already a seasoned member of Voight's Intelligence team. Having seniority with his employment, he was the deputy leader for the squad. Dawson was scheduled to join Chicago Justice, the fourth series of Dick Wolf's One Chicago, which was sadly shelved after just one season. This cleared the path for his return to his original role, but not long after he was finally written off since he started depending on narcotics. He didn't die, hence his door remained open for his return whenever.
Voight cannot afford to merely bring in anybody. He requires a new right-hand, and returning his former deputy will help him fill that hole most easily.
The Context of the Viral Photograph
We had a cast party, and I had been chatting to Jon; we had been intending to get together. "Hey, why not you just come to the cast party, be my date?" I asked. He was significant, and evidently it was all over. I don't read the media, but folks claimed it was all over, like this major event. Surely having him back would be fantastic. He is a great actor and just a sophisticated guy, professional, excellent human being. I'm in, hence I'm not the one making that call. If he wants to be a series regular, though, I'm sure we could create at least some room for an arc. Indeed, we could welcome some fresh hires; maybe Antonio will be returning.
Beghe is correct, anyway. The folks above Seda will decide whether or not she should come back. Having said that, it's not bad that he made public his wish to see Dawson back with Intelligence. Furthermore encouraging is the interest in Dawson and his narrative years after he was written off of Chicago PD.

NBC's fall 2024-2025 TV schedule calls for Chicago PD season 12 to premiere. What narratives the next season explores will be fascinating to watch.
The Path Antonio Dawson Will Travel
Seda eventually came upon a fresh show to lead in La Brea. This made it challenging for the actor to reenter One Chicago in any capacity during the past few years. That's done, though, and he has time to pretend to be Dawson and rejoin Intelligence. The leaving of Jay Halstead from Chicago PD season 10 also leaves Intelligence undermanned. Hailey Upton exits likewise Voight cannot afford to merely bring in anybody. He requires a new right-hand, and returning his former deputy will help him fill that hole most easily.
Hank Voight's near-death experience marked the conclusion of Chicago PD season 11, but it also helped to open the path for the cherished original character to return almost dead. Though it might not be happening right now, it could be the future's storyline for the show.
