Key Advantage of House of the Dragon Should Produce a Stronger Ending
For years, Game Of Thrones was a huge critical and financial triumph; every one of its first seven seasons scored a 90% or more on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 6's "Battle of the Bastards" and "The Winds of Winter" among others produced some of the best episodes, although even when the show exceeded Martin's source material following season 5, it stayed in prime shape. But many saw the show's Game of Thrones season 8 suffer as showrunners David Benioff and D. B. Weiss set out to finish the narrative.
With just outlines of The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring to work with, the last two novels in Martin's Song of Ice and Fire trilogy still to be released, Benioff and Weiss had the unpleasant chore of terminating a worldwide craze. Like Game of Thrones, House Of The Dragon began strong with a debut season both commercially and critically successful that lived up to its predecessor. House of the Dragon shouldn't have trouble even if some believe the last season of Game Of Thrones suffered a drop in quality.
Runner for House of the Dragon explains the main benefit of adapting the Prequel Series instead of Game of Thrones.
Inspired by George R. R. Martin's ongoing A Song of Ice and Fire narrative, HBO's hugely popular fantasy show ran from 2011 to 2019. Shortly after it ended, the first Prequel series—which chronicles almost three decades of Targaryen family background per Martin's novel Fire & Blood—had its premiere on House Of The Dragon season 2 on June 16.
In an interview with Variety, Condal—who has been the only showrunner for the second season since Miguel Sapochnik left—expressed the key benefit of adopting House of the Dragon over Game of Thrones. Unlike the original series, which was not whole when the book series ended, the Prequel series has a whole narrative to fit, he said. His whole defense is found below:

Condal notes that the advantage of his and his writers' room's fully completed source material is that it lets them know exactly where and how the story finishes years in advance. This should therefore produce a stronger ending than Game of Kings. That is not to argue, though, that House of the Dragon has no particular difficulties. It is based on a book that, rather than a conventional tale, takes the shape of a fictional history book depending on first-hand stories that sometimes contradict one another.
House of the Dragon then has to choose on-screen how to show the objective facts of this past. Considering its major edge over Game of Thrones, the prequel show should keep doing an excellent job through its ending. Still several years off, though, because the Dance of the Dragons is scheduled to explode in season 2.
Although the ending of the Game of Thrones series completed the narrative, several unresolved problems still exist.
We knew exactly where, how to get it over, and what we needed to accomplish. We have the edge as the book spans several years and we know how this particular chapter in Targaryen history closes.
Max can stream Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon both.
