Gritty Fan-Made Trailer Realizes Older Spider-Man Noir Created by Nicolas Cage.

How Noir Might Differentiate From Other Spider-Man Films

Based on the concept trailer and fan projects, Spider-Man Noir is a far grittier Spider-Man than any Spider-Man ever filmed for the big screen. Gone are Peter Parker's laid-back demeanor and easy banter. Rather, Spider-Man Noir is a silent hero stalking his foes from the shadows. Unafraid of employing lethal force or deadly weaponry to neutralize his enemies, Spider-Man Noir attacks fiercely.

Furthermore unlike other Spider-Man stories, where Peter Parker and Miles Morales's teenage and college years define their character arcs, Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir will most certainly be over 60 years old in the series. Cage's interpretation of the character will probably be much more jaded and tarnished than the original comic book one. Spider-Man Noir must have gone through numerous horrific events if he has survived long enough to reach 60.

Gritty Marvel Concept Trailer Features Nicolas Cage's Older Spider-Man Come To Life

Taking the first significant pre-production step, Nicolas Cage's Spider-Man Noir series formally cast him in the starring role. Although Nicolas Cage has already portrayed the animated form of the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, it remains to be seen how different his live-action performance will be from his counterpart.

Three fan projects—Chaos Corps' "Spider-Man Noir and the Man Made of Stone," ArmaniOrtiz's "Spider-Men: NOIR," and Ruben Maldonado's "Spider-Man Noir Concept" action sequence choreography on YouTube have been shared by ScreenCulture. Appropriately shot in black and white, all three fan-made movies and the Concept Trailer catch the film noir vibe of the source material. See the idea trailer down below:

Nicolas Cage's comments on superhero roles have helped me to see the live-action Spider-Man Noir series in bright future. His high standards for quality inspire me.

Though mostly absent from the superhero movie genre, Sony's Noir series will most certainly make full use of the film noir inspirations of the character. Expected are high contrast black and white cinematography, voiceover narration, morally dubious characters, and a Great Depression-era backdrop. Two comic book films Sony's Noir series might have significant similarities with Sin City and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, both of which pay homage to the 1940s film noir genre.
