DC's Superman Faces High Bar for Lois Lane: How 2024 Shows Set the Standard

The High Bar Set for Lois Lane in the DCU's Superman

Get ready, folks, because the bar for Lois Lane in the DCU's new Superman movie has been set sky-high by two amazing stories in 2024!

With the new DCU being launched, there's a lot of pressure on this Superman movie to get things right. Not only is it trying to fix the mistakes of the DCEU, but it's also got to start this whole new shared universe in a big way. That means every single character has to be awesome, especially Lois Lane.

2024: A Year of Epic Lois Lane

Two incredible stories this year have already given us amazing versions of Lois Lane that the Dcu has to match! We're talking about My Adventures with Superman, which is an animated series, and Superman & Lois, a live-action show on The CW.

Both shows really put Lois in the spotlight. She's not just Superman's girlfriend; she's a super-smart, super-driven journalist who's got her own thing going. You get to see how she works, how she thinks, and how she kicks butt! It's all thanks to the amazing actresses, Alice Lee and Elizabeth Tulloch, who bring her to life.

Can Rachel Brosnahan Live Up to the Challenge?

Well, the DCU's Superman movie has already shown us they're serious about giving Lois her due. James Gunn has said that Lois is a super important character in the movie, along with Superman and Jimmy Olsen. That means we're going to get a lot more of her, and hopefully, it'll be a whole lot better than what we saw in the DCEU with Amy Adams!

And then there's Rachel Brosnahan! She's a seriously talented actress – she won an Emmy for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, so you know she can bring the heat! Casting her as Lois gives us serious hope that she'll meet, if not exceed, the high bar set by the previous versions of Lois.

The new Superman movie is definitely going to be a tough act to follow, especially with Lois Lane in the mix. But with Rachel Brosnahan and the promise of a more complex character, it's definitely worth getting excited about!
