Hawk Deserves A Rematch With Kenny After His Disappointing Cobra Kai Season 5 Loss
Cobra Kai season 5 featured one of the most disappointing fights in the series, but season 6's villain setup can finally make up for it. Hawk has been one of the primary characters in Cobra Kai since season 1. While Hawk was one of the strongest Cobra Kai fighters in the initial seasons, he became one of Miyagi Do karate's best young practitioners after his redemption. Owing to this, when Hawk won the All-Valley tournament in Cobra Kai season 4's ending, it was hard to feel proud of him for his victory. Strangely, however, despite being one of the best fighters in the entire franchise, Hawk lost to Kenny during their showdown in Cobra Kai season 5.
Since Kenny started learning karate in Cobra Kai season 4 and is still a newbie compared to Hawk, it makes no sense that the All-Valley champion lost to him in a fight. Cobra Kai tries to justify Kenny's win by showing how Kenny uses Silver's controversial "Silver Bullet" move to take Hawk down. However, considering Hawk's diverse karate skills and experience, it is still hard to believe Hawk lost to Kenny. Cobra Kai Season 6 needs to make up for this disappointing bout by featuring a Kenny vs Hawk rematch at the Sekai Taikai Tournament.
Cobra Kai Season 6 Seems To Be Setting Up Kenny As One Of Its Main Villains
Toward Cobra Kai season 5's ending, Terry Silver's students dump their dojo uniforms after learning about his unethical practices in the All-Valley Tournament. This ending hinted that most Cobra Kai students would end up joining the Miyagi Do dojo in the final season. By showing characters like Tory and Kyler teaming up with their former Miyagi Do enemies, Cobra Kai Season 6's trailer confirms that many former antagonists have switched sides after season 5's events. However, in the trailers, Kenny is nowhere to be found among the students training at the Miyagi Do dojo.
Kenny's absence suggests that even though Kenny does not support Terry Silver after Cobra Kai season 5's events, he is still not willing to join Miyagi Do. The likely reason behind this is that the Miyagi Do Dojo is run by Anthony's father, Daniel LaRusso. Since Kenny has still not forgiven Anthony for bullying him in school, Kenny harbors a deep-seated resentment towards the dojo he and his family represent. Owing to this, unlike Kyler and Tory, Kenny remains one of the primary villains in Cobra Kai.
Kenny's Villain Setup Perfectly Paves The Way For His Rematch With Hawk
Since Hawk has been on the Miyagi Do team for quite some time now, and Kenny will likely represent the show's villains in season 6, the two could have a Rematch in the Sekai Taikai tournament. The silver bullet would likely be an unethical move in the international fighting tournament, which would prevent Kenny from defeating Hawk with cheap tricks. Hawk, on the other hand, can put his diverse karate skills on full display in Cobra Kai season 6 to not only overpower Kenny but also to humble him and help him realize that fighting with anger will lead to nothing but destructive outcomes.
