Why Pascal Fired Damon

Even those that aren't fully supportive of Pascal may find that this wasn't a random action. This actually helps resolve some intense conflict between two members at Firehouse 51: Kelly Severide and his wife, Stella Kidd.

Jack Damon (who happens to be Severide's brother), has his issues and this doesn't help Severide and Kidd's relationship.

  • He didn't care about obeying orders.
  • Jack Damon was reckless, even a bit of a loose cannon who just had no issues at all, creating more problems!

What makes Pascal's choice even better? Even though he may look like he has an awful demeanor! He actually makes an even bigger shift by showing up as a fair leader. Pascal was about to transfer Kidd. but ultimately realizes that Jack Damon was the real cause for this tension, causing big problems.

Two Big Problems With Damon's Firing

Despite Pascal's actions seeming right and just. There are a few problems to consider that some viewers feel about these recent events!

These changes might add to a feeling of some major instability with the whole crew. Here's why!

  • Having Jack Damon go means that the truck crew has to once again find some new personnel!
  • This adds to instability for Firehouse 51, given recent departures.
  • Kidd's team lost a person "Gibson" (before Damon) due to him dealing with personal issues.
  • It's sad given his connection with another "Firehouse 51 member Carver!
  • "Boden" had also left earlier, one of the original team members, who really anchored the team, causing an additional layer of emotional hardship for viewers.

It looks like changing things so much may have some unwanted effects on the viewers! It does add to a feeling of unsettlement as it feels too quick. What makes it more interesting, though, is that Chicago Fire's fans adore its Characters and it is what creates the real pull. The audience can only enjoy these moments and see a solid series as the cast gains consistency, giving it a powerful foundation.

This situation is complex! If you are looking to get some big character development for Severide and see this character in a lot of different ways! You will get some great emotions! Even with a smaller character arc. Even for those that feel the end for Jack Damon isn't that huge. We do need to know more. That includes exploring a great deal more Severide and Damon's connection which just got barely established near the end of Season 12!

Fans will know what happens in this series. It all comes to light in an explosive reveal about their brotherly relationship.

With the firing of Damon in Season 13, it seemed their chance is just not there. So any chance of a proper moment for these two is just completely ruined and this means viewers really missed seeing more character growth for Severide! If anything! A final talk could have even left audiences satisfied even though Damon has left the Firehouse 51! It will mean that these episodes are even more important.

The Return of Jack Damon?

While it does seem really likely he might come back, what will fans get? Damon may not ever come back full-time and he does have this falling-out with Severide!

What's interesting? Viewers might not be so convinced this show can really move on! Chicago Fire needs to make sure this wraps up right! The best parts of these series depend upon not just solid plots! You need emotional depth from your Character arc as well!

Having Damon come back to chat with Severide might be that perfect moment for this show.

However, if this just leaves Severide without closure there could be an ongoing story that carries into more seasons! For the fans and for NBC they should make sure everything wraps up!
