Star Wars greatly increased the stakes with Indara's passing.
The stakes have been upped dramatically for every single character now that Star Wars has shown it's ready to kill one of its biggest personalities in the opening few minutes of The Acolyte. Since Moss herself has been heavily involved in the series' advertising, her participation in The Acolyte has long ago come under scrutiny. The fact her character dies off so rapidly therefore shows Star Wars isn't hesitant to do the same to any other character in this cast.
For The Acolyte, this is a startling yet quite wise action. The narrative will rely on Master Indara's death as the first of many that puts every single character at danger; with a series so firmly anchored in mystery, its surprising turns will define it. The third element influencing The Acolyte's side is the absence of plot armor among its major characters in The Phantom Menace, so none of them could have the same destiny as Indara.
I Find It Hard To Understand Star Wars Did TO Carrie-Anne Moss
The newest TV show Star Wars debuted, The Acolyte, hence Carrie-anne Moss made her galactic debut but not for very long. Moss depicts the Jedi Master Indara, a High Republic era member of the Jedi Order. Indara lives in the Golden Age of the Galactic Republic during a period of relative peace 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, but the episode swiftly shows that all is not as it seems for the Jedi and their galaxy.
The first scene of The Acolyte presents viewers to Master Indara, who fights fiercely against Mae of Amandla Stenberg. But this killer gets the upper hand on the Jedi Master and completes her sinister objective—kill Indara. Watching Master Indara be taken down before the opening title sequence can even begin is absolutely shocking, and it's difficult to believe Star Wars has truly done with a name as well-known as Moss'."
Death of a Jedi Master
Though it does not signal the end of Moss's appearances in The Acolyte, the death of her character is really shocking. Based on video leaked in different promos and trailers, there will be flashbacks of Indara with Master Sol and more illustrating the sad events of Osha and Mae's youth, therefore placing Moss back in her position as Indara. Unfortunately, though, Moss's Star Wars future has been predetermined because The Acolyte's boldness—that of centering the death of her character at the core of its narrative—has seen.
Disney+ now has the Acolyte episodes 1 and 2 on streaming.
The Acolyte: An Other Star Wars Era
Set in the Star Wars world toward the conclusion of the High Republic Era, The Acolyte is a television series featuring both the Galactic Empire and the Jedi at their height of prominence. Investigating various crimes, this sci-fi thriller sees a former Padawan reunite with her former Jedi Master as they uncover events all pointing to darkness bursting from beneath the surface and ready to bring about the death of the High Republic.
The show is destined to be a great success with its innovative approach on the galaxy far, far away. Viewing a different aspect to the Jedi and the Sith excites fans.
Unanticipated Turn
Based on an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation he directed, Jonathan Frakes explained his "surprised" response to Star Trek: Discovery based season 5's story. Including season 5 (and the series') penultimate episode, "Lagrange Point," Frakes has directed eight episodes of Star Trek: Discovery. Jonathan has always considered Star Trek: Discovery his "home" Star Trek on Paramount+ show since he joined as a director for season 2; yet, Frakes did not imagine Discovery season 5 to pull its story from one of his TNG episodes.
Jonathan Frakes revealed in an exclusive interview with Screen Rant why he was "pretty surprised" that Star Trek: Discovery season 5 follows his Star Trek: The Next Generation season 6 episode, "The Chase." Frakes also discussed how directing the current Star Trek series differs from Star Trek during Rick Berman's 1990s era. Please find his quotation below:
I was rather taken aback since I don't recall "The Chase" being that important in Next Gen's body of work. Then Michelle clarified how that would be the beginning and the show's premise's basis... You know, I came upon "The Chase" just by chance. The cards turned out this way. On Next Gen, you get episodes assigned to you by some random voting of straws; on Discovery, and also, much more importantly, on Strange New Worlds, they assign you an episode they thought you would be suitable for. So it was merely chance that "The Chase" turned out to be one I had intended.
