A magnificent comeback to the character 19 years after he first appeared in Star Wars, Christensen's long-awaited trip back to the galaxy far, far away was Following criticism on the first release of the prequel trilogy and the welcome reappraisal of his portrayal's stronger physical moments in the years following, Christensen's reappearance of Anakin let many who grew up seeing his performance to express their gratitude. The actor's comeback across Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka let him examine the character with a fresh new perspective that considered all of his canonical evolution since.
Finally able to capture an angry, vengeful Anakin through both his performance and a terrifying exchange that showed little of the Clone Wars' fabled Jedi hero remained, Christensen was able to portray Vader for a noteworthy period of screentime with his return in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Conversely, Ahsoka provided the ideal finale for Anakin's path since being redeemed and one with the Force saw a wiser Anakin eventually teach his student vital lessons following their sad parting in life. For Anakin's whole path, then, Christensen's homecoming offered pivotal points.
Hayden Christensen and Rosario Dawson consider Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka's live-action reunion in Ahsoka following their praised meeting on the Disney+ Star Wars drama. Rosario assumed the Jedi Knight's trainee role in 2020's The Mandalorian season 2 episode, "The Jedi," while Christensen portrayed the famous Jedi Chosen One-tuned-Sith Lord in 2002's Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones and 2005's Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. In Ahsoka episode 5 "Shadow Warrior," Rosario's lost Padawan found herself between life and death. Anakin came to her aid to help finish her training.
Just over eight months following Ahsoka's wrap, Christensen and Dawson seized the chance to consider their character's much awaited live-action encounter with Entertainment Weekly. Although the couple had long been friends off-screen, both welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on the series and incorporate their real-world background into their performance with what Christensen called as a "very special experience". Look at what Dawson says below:
Rosario Dawson: It is so lovely and unique. Just delighted to see Hayden in Obi-Wan Kenobi, I hoped, fingers crossed, that would happen with him on our show. Though I would want to keep no one on the crew out there, I would state that were some tears shed when we saw lightsaber in his hand once more. It's rather amazing and really unique.
Though not training for their battle together resulted in some errors, both performers appreciated the experience and praised each other's swordsmanship and performance. Christensen and Dawson hinted the idea for their Star Wars future even if they refrained from verifying whether Anakin could return. See what they said below:
The Acolyte, Star Wars' next TV show, will premiere on Disney+ on June 4. Here is all you need know before this great Star Wars series starts. This series will let viewers to get to know numerous fresh individuals and promises to feature loads of surprising story turns. Viewers of this show will yearn to return for more.
Set in the Star Wars world during the conclusion of the High Republic Era, the television series The Acolyte follows the Jedi and the Galactic Empire as they were most powerful. Investigating various crimes, this sci-fi thriller sees a former Padawan reunite with her former Jedi Master as they uncover events all pointing to darkness bursting from beneath the surface and ready to bring about the death of the High Republic.
Leslye Headland is quite hopeful about the possibility to run The Acolyte through three seasons. Set 100 years before Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace at a golden period for the Jedi and the Republic, The Acolyte creates countless avenues for Star Wars narratives. As a prelude to the prequel trilogy, the program can—and apparently will—do quite a bit to clarify the problems that surface inside the Jedi Order and the Republic over the prequel films. Moreover, many fresh individuals and stories can be presented as an era yet unvisited on film.
The Acolyte has already shown strong proof that it will accomplish exactly that. Apart from revealing several fresh Jedi Masters and Padawans from the show's teasers and trailers, it is also obviously defying convention in an interesting way. Multiple new Jedi, including Master Kelnacca, the first live-action Wookiee Jedi in Star Wars canon, are non-human, for starters. The Acolyte will also feature a Force-sensitive coven of witches and new, enigmatic dark side Force-users one of whom chooses blades over the traditional lightsaber.
Dawson: I'm not sure whose was more heavy-handed between Ray Stevenson and Hayden. There would most certainly be times when I would say, "We're pretending to kill me — right, guys?"
Christensen: Though you had considerable force behind your strokes as well. We had a nice time together, but as I remember there were no significant disasters.
Dawson: We genuinely had a great time. It was quite unique indeed. One of those pinch-me events for myself of just going, "Is this work?," and that was most definitely a highlight of the production. There are plenty of times on a project when you feel the intensity of it; this one, I would have paid to have been there.
Disney+ lets you stream Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, and the Star Wars Skywalker Saga.
