Abby's NCIS Comeback: Pauley Perrette and Mark Harmon Feud opens door for return.

Feud Expressed by Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette

Though Ncis's procedural approach is well-known, its camaraderie among the cast is maybe its strongest point. Although the MCRT's lineup has changed several times throughout the years, Gibbs and Abby's friendship is possibly among its strongest ones. Regretfully, it seems that behind the scenes things were not as they should have been before Perrette left. Long story short, she said Harmon scared her following an incident involving his dog. CBS officials stated in 2024 that the problem had long been fixed and are even willing to invite her back.

Perrette's latest comment on the topic, however, showed that she stayed in her position regarding her leaving: she said she would never be returning to Ncis since she never wanted to work with Harmon. She said this in 2019, around the same period she was working on her brief program, Broke. Still, there is hope she will finally make a Comeback—especially following the Ducky memorial episode in NCIS season 21 that highlighted Abby.

Abby Can Return To NCIS Via Tony and Ziva's Spinoff Pauley Perrette

Although Perrette's NCIS departure was rife with controversy, the police procedural created a means to write her out of MCRT. After a horrific incident on the workplace where she was targeted by a hitman, Abby chose to leave NCIS. Tasked to guard her, MI6 Agent Clayton Reeves did, but his death resulted. Pent up with all the anguish of working for the organization and wanting to respect Reeves' memory, she travelled to the United Kingdom to establish a foundation bearing his name.

Assuming this is still the case, she might fit right in with the upcoming NCIS spinoff, NCIS: Tony & Ziva. Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are re-teaming for a proper Comeback to the brand with their own spinoff following his Tony DiNozzo return in NCIS season 21. It will follow the pair—along with their pre-teen daughter Tali—on their European trek. Plot details about their situation remain under wraps, but regardless of who is following them, any friend could be of value. Trust is a major component in NCIS: Tony & Ziva, hence it would be ideal if they get in touch with Abby, someone they know won never sell them out.

Can Abby Still Go Back to MCRT for NCIS?

Although Abby is helping Tony and Ziva negotiate their problems in Europe, it also raises the prospect of her ultimately finding her way back to DC. Fortunately this time Gibbs is no longer an active MCRT special agent, hence if Perrette chooses to go back she would not have to deal with Harmon, as she has been emphatic about. She still connects herself to the team, though, having Tim McGee and Jimmy Palmer present. Perrette's most recent chat with Brian Dietzen suggests, if anything, Abby's NCIS flagship return is more likely than ever.

Six years after Pauley Perrette's conflict with Mark Harmon, NCIS now has a clear road for recovering Abby Sciuto. NCIS has seen many characters come and go over more than two decades on airtime. Given Kate Todd's untimely death, it became clear that a revolving ensemble would be standard. Though it's tough to say goodbye to some players, particularly fan-favorite ones, the police procedural always continued along with the job of the Major Case Response Team (MCRT) continuing. Given the number of cast changes the show has experienced, NCIS has had to be creative with its departures.

NCIS's and Abby Sciuto's Future

Whether Abby Sciuto would make a comeback to NCIS via NCIS: Tony & Ziva or a possible return to the flagship series, is up for conjecture. Though it's unknown whether Pauley Perrette is willing to be back on the show, fans are excited to see Abby active again. For years, the NCIS series has been a mainstay of television; the notion of bringing fan-favorite characters like Abby, Tony, and Ziva together is enticing.

NCIS boasts a strong legacy and a loyal following; the comeback of Abby might reviTalize the show. Since the start of the show, her character has been a much-loved feature. Her own personality and skills have made her an unforgettable one. Though Abby Sciuto's and the NCIS franchise's future is yet unknown, fans are hopeful that her comeback—in whatever form—is a reality.

NCIS: Looking Back at the Series

Naval Criminal Investigative Service, or NCIS, emphasizes the sometimes complicated and always entertaining dynamics of a team compelled to cooperate under great pressure. The NCIS team consists of NCIS Special Agent Timothy McGee, an MIT graduate with a knack for computers who has lately graduated to senior field agent; the charismatic, unpredictable and resilient NCIS Special Agent Nicholas “Nick” Torres, who has spent most of his career on solo undercover assignments; and sharp, athletic and tough NCIS Special Agent Jessica Knight, a formidable REACT agent specialized in hostage negotiations and high-risk operations. Running the morgue and having progressed from assistant to fully licensed medical examiner, the naive Jimmy Palmer is helping the team; and forensic scientist Kasie Hines, Ducky's former graduate assistant. NCIS Director Leon Vance, a brilliant, highly skilled agent constantly dependable to upend the established quo, is in charge of supervising activities. From murder and espionage to terrorism and pilfers of submarines, these elite agents probe any crimes having Navy or Marine Corps affiliations.

With its rich mysteries, varied array of characters, and mix of action, drama, and humor, NCIS has been a ratings juggernaut for years capturing viewers. To increase the franchise's scope and thereby confirm its position in television history, the series has produced multiple spinoffs including NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Hawai'i.
