Charli XCX and Post Malone Gain Additional Grammy Nominations for Art Direction Before 2025 Award Show

Charli XCX and Post Malone received extra 2025 Grammy nominations for their albums Brat and F-1 Trillion in the art direction category according to an announcement December 20 from the recording academy. Their albums were included in best recording package nominations on November 8 however the initial nominations did not include these two as art directors. Resubmitted credits added both of the artists to be considered. Both artists’ nominations have now grown adding them to the 2025 list among other performers.

Charli XCX and Post Malone move from seven to eight total Grammy nominations as of December 20 pushing both artists just behind current nominations leader Beyoncé who currently has eleven. Charli XCX and Post Malone moved ahead of Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar who each hold seven nominations demonstrating that a shift in power occurred due to these corrections. Kate Bush also has been nominated in the best recording package category as an art director although this nomination was already made when the nominations were announced back in November . Kate Bush is a co-art director for Hounds of Love The Baskerville Edition a reissue of her album from 1985. That same Hounds of Love album included “Running Up That Hill A Deal With God” which went viral as a mega-hit back in 2022 causing many to become more familiar with the musician. That nomination highlights both her prior work and renewed interest in the music with her work receiving critical review across many media channels.

This ongoing trend of artists assuming more roles within their overall creative projects also show they have significant stake and talent for all things production within various segments including creative art direction.
