Fans were delighted by the Star Trek: The Next Generation reunion that took place in the final season of Star Trek: Picard. With so much history shared between Jean-Luc Picard and the USS Enterprise-D, it was only right to bring back the most iconic starship in Star Trek: The Next Generation history!
Those watching Star Trek: Picard Season 3 may have missed this hint early on! It happens during the very first episode. The setting is Jean-Luc's vineyard and, in his living room, a beautiful painting of the Enterprise-D is hanging above the fireplace! It is quite a special detail, given how he reminisces about the time spent on the Galaxy Class ship. He even notes, it "she was certainly my favorite" and comments to Laris (played by Orla Brady), that he would love for his friend Geordi La Forge to take the painting to the Fleet Museum! Little did viewers know at the time that this seemingly insignificant statement would lead to something incredible.
The Star Trek: Picard season 3 finale brought some thrilling events, and it ended with the triumphant return of USS Enterprise-D! What made the scene more emotional was the involvement of Geordi La Forge, the engineer who brought a legendary starship back to life. Geordi La Forge has dedicated 20 years to meticulously rebuild this beautiful, yet iconic starship that was destroyed during Star Trek: Generations! His dedication helped save the galaxy, and brought back a lot of heart and sentiment for Star Trek fans, who cherished that moment in the show!
