The coach, Red Murff, becomes a truly adversarial figure in the film – unlike the real-life interactions that occurred, which makes some people consider the changes made in The Hill rather unfortunate, given the change of persona to be considered antagonists without valid cause; and despite having this one seriously crazy scene with Rickey scaling a ten-foot wall to talk to Red; this doesn’t make it to the movie’s script!
