Superman Set Photos Show David Corenswet In Action
New set photos from the Superman production bring one of Dc Comics' most beloved comic book appearances to life. David Corenswet's Superman movie will be the first film to come out of DC Studios' upcoming continuity. The massive reboot has been in the works since late February, with the Superman cast now getting closer to wrapping principal photography.
As of last week, filming for the Superman movie is taking place in Cleveland, with many set images and video clips giving a closer look at the film. Through the official Cleveland website, new Superman set photos have been revealed, featuring Corenswet's upcoming iteration of Krypton's last son in an action sequence. While effects will clearly be added in post-production, Corenswet's Superman can be seen in a similar position to the iconic Action Comics #1 cover, which is when the Man of Steel first debuted.
A Closer Look at David Corenswet's Superman
Following the first look at the DC Universe's Superman, there are some clear differences between David Corenswet and Henry Cavill's Superman suits. These new photos offer a more detailed look at the new suit, but also give a taste of what to expect in the film's tone and aesthetic.
These new photos reveal that the new Superman suit is not a direct replica of the comic book look. It is certainly inspired by it, with certain details such as the cape and the iconic "S" symbol. However, the suit features a more modern and streamlined design, with a more sleek and polished look.
Superman Takes Flight
While many of the previous Superman movie set photos have already given a lot of good and closer looks at Corenswet's suit, the latest ones also feature another core element of the Man of Tomorrow. Even though the context is missing, for the time being, some of the Superman pictures appear to show the hero taking flight.
In these photos, Corenswet's Superman is taking off for unknown reasons, striking his famous pose from the comics whenever he gets ready to fly. This is supported by other photos, which appear to show civilians looking up into the air at either Superman or whatever he is facing, suggesting the film sequence could have a notable in-air sequence.
When Can We Expect A Trailer?
Since these photos prove filming is well and truly underway, the question of when the first trailer will get shared with the world is perhaps more pressing than ever. This is especially true since James Gunn - and seemingly the Superman cast - won't be present at this year's San Diego Comic-Con due to them still shooting at the time.
Hopefully, once Superman is done with principal photography, the Dc Universe audience won't have to wait too long to get a proper look at the movie. Fans are eagerly awaiting any news about the film's release and the first look at the new Superman in action.
