Tom Holland’s portrayal of Peter Parker created new expectations to see what he could bring to his new performances outside of this role. After being so publicly known for playing the popular spider-man he has been working towards expanding his resume.
Tom has made an agreement to be the leading role in “The Partner” as Patrick Lanigan and also producing for Universal Pictures which explores an entirely new view of the star. As he takes on more morally complicated characters it allows a new way to view him and not just as a friendly neighborhood hero. The Imitation Games scribe Graham Moore will create the script making for compelling viewing.
The move to take part in "The Partner" puts Holland in an interesting realm as Grisham novels have proven to be strong characters to showcase big stars throughout the years. From the early nineties there were many books with the lead characters showcasing a variety of new up and coming actors into more mature roles with morally complicated decisions to consider. Tom Holland taking this position allows him a great opportunity for growth.
This specific Grisham novel will show Tom in a role as Patrick Lanigan a partner at a corrupt law firm who stole 90 million from his employers. This leads a chain of event for his new life after faking his death to create his own path forward. With the clients he defrauded after being chased by the government he has to take responsibility for all of his previous decisions which lead him back home. This allows Holland to not be limited by roles that are known to be easy to side with good and evil instead blending those lines.
Holland is also starring in an upcoming Christopher Nolan movie known as "The Odyssey." He'll be appearing in another notable large budget project while taking different approaches to the type of movies in his career choices as he is being showcased as more of a complex type of talent.
Also having a part in the past in the 2015 movie “In the Heart of the Sea,” a film in which also had Chris Hemsworth which created a more intriguing element for fans to want more. It has recently become very popular on Netflix even after failing to gain traction at the Box Office ten years after its debut. This shows that regardless of negative critique a film might take from critics, it is a different path to be discovered at a later date through new avenues and technology.
Starring along side MCU veteran Chris Hemsworth once again, with both playing in drastically different scenarios than the Marvel Universe that viewers were familiar with. Also joined by notable actors such as Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, and Brendan Gleeson added star power with high value to draw in an even larger base of viewers on the streaming services.
With multiple projects moving forward Holland is becoming well-known to showcase a wide variety of characters ranging in different types of emotions and plot types. This will include Spider-Man 4 along with all his newly announced movies including "The Odyssey". He is also still predicted to appear in future Avengers movies and may work with the Russo brothers again in an upcoming project.
