Society of Composers & Lyricists Announces 2025 SCL Awards Nominees: Emilia Pérez and Shōgun Lead Nominations with 3 Nods Each

The Society of Composers & Lyricists released nominations for its 2025 SCL Awards recognizing superior skill within music in visual media categories. Emilia Pérez composers Clément Ducol and Camille plus Atticus Ross composer for Challengers and Shōgun all acquired a leading three nominations each. The awards will be presented at the sixth annual SCL Awards ceremony February 12 in Los Angeles hosted by Men at Work member Colin Hay.

Harry Gregson-Williams And Ridley Scott Will Receive SCL’s Spirit of Collaboration Award In February Ceremony

The SCL selected Gladiator II composer Harry Gregson-Williams plus filmmaker Ridley Scott for the 2025 Spirit of Collaboration Award acknowledging their long history together of creating great works. Harry Gregson Williams composed original scores for Ridley Scott's films The Martian Kingdom of Heaven The Last Duel House of Gucci and themes for both Prometheus and Exodus: Gods and Kings which clearly highlight a collaboration over many creative titles. Harry Gregson-Williams expressed gratitude to the filmmaker Ridley Scott for always being open about creativity and giving musical freedom during film projects. Martin Scorsese received the same award in 2024 along with his collaborator the late Robbie Robertson.

The SCL Jury Award is set to recognize Jeff Beal a five-time Emmy winner for his score work with 1920 classic silent movie The Cabinet of Dr Caligari considered a very important film within film history.
