While there was plenty of buzz around this time, no one truly knew how to interpret these events, because it's a classic case of a possible cover-up from the U.S. Air Force.
Fans of "Roswell, "Roswell, New Mexico (the 2019 reboot), will know there is more going on with the 1980s than what's typically talked about in media and tv, though this story was on the scene for a few decades before.
The Beginning
It seems this story begins around the time that everyone in the state of "New Mexico" was experiencing heavy rains and crazy storms, including a storm with thunder. A couple days later, a rancher who went out to gather debris came face to face with what seemed to be debris from a crashed aircraft, not just an aircraft, but the infamous UFO, according to reports.
- It happened on July 3, 1947, after he heard this explosion!
- After this, the debris was delivered a few days later to an area in Roswell to an Air Force squad that included a major named "Jesse Marcel.
- After only a few days, the U.S. Air Force, gave news about their "flying disc"!
If that didn't cause a buzz nothing else would. What made the news a whirlwind was that Major Marcel was called to a location in Texas, that included a General, to look at a particular type of Debris, even more surprisingly it wasn't the real one! Instead the general had him use some items that were used for weather, giving a completely different interpretation.
- He discovered his initial debris had been "replaced."
And if you think this gets stranger. The general made a point of telling him that "Jesse" should never speak about this again!
Covering Up The Evidence:
With these changes the U.S. Air Force did the impossible, they managed to stop any reports! And they didn't stop there.
- The authorities wanted a certain interpretation, and even threatened journalists with the loss of their credentials and licenses.
This news from that summer back in 1947 became something even more interesting.
- Even after many years "Stanton Friedman interviewed "Jesse Marcel" in 1978, adding an additional level of discussion for this incredible incident.
- This event kept going on and finally was featured on "Unsolved Mysteries." "Unsolved Mysteries" has a way of giving viewers everything they want!
After this special show! The government had no other choice, but to come forward with more answers!
Roswell Report:
You know how the government works. They want to share details, however, they can. It didn't stop with just one report!
- This brought in another "report" which was in "July 1994." The event went from the realm of imagination to reality in 1997.
This series of events led to Project Mogul, an incredible secret U.S. government plan. They launched these super high balloons to look for spies.
- What was so great is they shared a second report back in "1997," as everyone began to question it.
- But it didn't have such a warm reception from "Kevin Randle" or "Donald Schmitt".
- Their biggest belief, was the alien explanation.
Even with a lot of evidence pointing to the "U.S. Army" not fully explaining their position, fans, including UFO theorists continue to question if what happened in "Roswell", New Mexico, could truly be something as fantastical as a cover-up.
id="the-new-evidence">The New EvidenceIf you aren't already looking into the UFOs! Unsolved Mysteries will really take you there with even more! Schmitt and Randle continued to search. It was a never ending mission.
This quest included new individuals. The most noteworthy came in "2024, with the debut of a witness "Tim Saunders," the son of someone who had a connection to the Air Force Base.
Saunders' dad Colonel "Patrick Saunders," had an intense position. A role in cleaning up the whole debris area! Saunders talked with Schmitt and Randle and even shared that his father, would never share any details and didn't want to discuss this case ever again.
It turned out his father had made some amazing statements about this event.
- That is his last confession!
- That the incident did involve some out of this world connections.
While some people would dismiss this type of claim.
