One of the best GTA games, San Andreas makes a PS Plus comeback but it's the definitive edition.

One of the best GTA games will be arriving on PS Plus on June 7 under a major caveat.

PlayStation Plus is releasing a lot of new games as part of the Days of Play campaign; while many users will surely be happy to have a vintage Grand Theft Auto game included on the library, there is a catch. In order to further increase the value of its service, Sony organizes the yearly Days of Play event whereby it gives consumers already in the surroundings some additional advantages. 2024 is no different since May and June will bring a range of great games to the service.

According to the official PlayStation Blog, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, the venerable open-world game, will arrive on PlayStation Plus on June 7—unconditionally exciting except from the fact that it is the Definitive Edition. Released in 2021, the redesigned PlayStation 2 classic quickly gained recognition for its poor visuals and problematic presentation. Combined with its forebears GTA 3 and Vice City, the Definitive Edition of all three games is seen as having one of the most terrible launches in video game history.

Still Fun To Be Had In San Andreas

Though most fans still hold the original version as being better even if it is labelled as the greatest way to play San Andreas as it essentially works without being hampered by technical flaws and unsightly visual changes. Unfortunately, because the older versions were delisted soon after the release of the Definitive Edition, which caused a lot of criticism against Rockstar, it's getting harder and harder to play. Having said all that, the blood-soaked streets of San Andreas nevertheless offer lots of entertainment value.

The core San Andreas experience is still really strong even if PS Plus subscribers won't have to spend any more money for it. Apart from the presentation issues, some of the greatest Rockstar has ever produced is the action, narrative, and open-world aspects; many people say it is the studio's best game, even above the monolith that is GTA V. It's not horrible to settle for the Definitive Edition, given how challenging it can be to play the original version, particularly considering it doesn't cost its typical price.
