If you loved the original movie from 2002. It had so many heartfelt moments as Lilo Pelekai tried to make a difference and was always there to protect her big sister. Fans got to see the heartwarming bond of two sisters.

What makes this film more special is that Disney has given a voice to some iconic characters as well! This includes the return of the legendary voice from the first animated version Tia Carrere who gave "Nani Pelekai" her incredible charm! They also have Zach Galifianakis giving voice to the comedic role "Jumba Jookiba" and even have the creators, the dynamic duo of Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, taking on the challenge of producing and directing, adding to the team of incredibly talented voices in this awesome new take.

For fans who think this may not be so special there have been plenty of worries from viewers. While it is supposed to come out in 2025, many critics already had strong, unflattering opinions. Sydney Agudong who will bring Nani Pelekai to life in this remake is being questioned, based on her skin color, and some felt that the creators weren't sensitive to this topic.

Taking a Fresh New Look At The Film

While there has been criticism about the remake itself, some felt it was completely unneeded and questioned if Disney should try to recreate an already wonderful movie. There has also been talk about the selection of Sydney Agudong to take on this special role, Nani!

What may have stood out to these fans is that the actor, though Hawaiian, didn't have a complexion close enough to what the "animated" Nani Pelekai looked like. So many movie lovers went on to point to the "Lilo & Stitch" casting and production team for the casting as an act of colorism.

The original Lilo & Stitch, is pretty beloved and holds a unique, powerful place for audiences and they may already be skeptical about whether or not the new release will be able to hold its own and bring those magical elements to viewers as the classic film had!

The biggest challenge for Disney and "Lilo & Stitch", may be that there are too many remakes, leaving audiences wondering about the true necessity of their latest release.
