Jack Quaid's Superman Audition: Examining The Boys Star's DC Path
Renowned for his part in Amazon's popular series "The Boys," Jack Quaid has made public his unexpected affinity to the DC Universe. Quaid tried for the part before David Corenswet was hired as Clark Kent for the DCU's "Superman: Legacy."
Jack Quaid's Superman Audition: An Undercover View
Quaid spoke about his James Gunn "Superman" audition in an interview for the Happy, Sad, Confuted Podcast. He said he put himself on tape, but the audition didn't progress. Mentioning that he knew Corenswet from a pilot they had worked on together years ago, Quaid expressed his support for her casting.
"I barely got anywhere. It's good that I put myself on tape and it went nowhere. I am quite cool with it. I know David Corenswet; we did a pilot years ago; he's one of those people you meet and you go "oh yeah like whenever they need another one it's probably going to be you,'" Quaid said.
Jack Quaid's DC Universe: An Other Interpretive View of Superman
Quaid landed an other form of Superman even though he missed out on the part in Gunn's DC Universe. Quaid has been portraying Clark Kent in "My Adventures With Superman," an animated series with an early Superman focus, since 2023. The show tracks Clark Kent, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen as they negotiate their careers and relationships.
"My Adventures with Superman": Examining seasons 2 and 3
With the finale scheduled to show this weekend, season 2 of "My Adventures With Superman" is almost finished. The season ends with a significant confrontation against the venerable villain, Brainiac. Still, the show is not ending there. Already approved for a third season by Adult Swim is "My Adventures with Superman". Season 3's precise release date is yet unknown, but it should show up someplace in 2025.
Future of DC Movies: A Viewpoint on forthcoming releases
Set for release in July 2025, James Gunn's "Superman" film marks only the start of the rebuilt DC Universe. Launching DC Studios' "Gods and Monsters" chapter, the movie will present a fresh Superman for the cinematic universe. Gunn's movie will respect the character's legacy as a "truth, justice and the American way" emblem.
