Inside Out 2 Helps Pixar's Recovery

Just one Pixar film, Toy Story 4, has hit the sought-after $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office in the past five years. With a dismal $496.4 million worldwide gross for Elemental, the next highest-grossing movie in that era comes much below this. Multiple Pixar films were first published straight to Disney+, though, and only had limited theatrical releases subsequently.
Still, since the epidemic, Pixar has struggled to recover to its past box office glory, which strains Inside Out 2. This holds also true about critical performance. Comparatively to its earlier successes, Pixar's two most recent films, Elemental and Lightyear, received more subdued reviews. Disney has been attacked overall for depending too much on remakes and Sequels; although Inside Out 2 is the latter, the narrative it is presenting seems to be fair.
