The news that "Happy Gilmore 2" was in the works had the world celebrating and reminiscing about one of the greatest Comedy stars and one of his greatest films.
Happy Gilmore 2 is Coming Soon
This movie, directed by Kyle Newacheck, will reunite viewers with Adam Sandler (the heart and soul of Happy Gilmore and so many other comedy hits) along with Julie Bowen (best known for "Modern Family")! They are joined by a fantastic cast including Benny Safdie, Nick Swardson, Margaret Qualley, as well as some great celebrity cameos such as John Daly and Travis Kelce.
Even the director of "What We Do in the Shadows," has stepped into a new role. The production of "Happy Gilmore 2" will also feature some creative talents, and the film's creators, Sandler and Tim Herlihy will bring back those incredible writing moments from the past with a few hits like "The Wedding Singer", "The Waterboy", and "Big Daddy!" The newest movie is also bringing that special comedy blend. We can expect to see it on Netflix! There is already a strong impression, too, that it could be one of Sandler's best!
De-aging and Flashback Scenes:
There is one interesting change Bowen, revealed and shared some excitement with those waiting for this next great film. That's right! The movie will feature De-Aging technology to show past moments.
- There are many, many amazing moments of de-aging, and some fans believe "Happy Gilmore 2" could re-create one of the first film's coolest parts.
There's nothing like looking back in time, and fans of Happy Gilmore will know that this movie opens with a series of montage scenes that takes audiences back in time.
What Else Happy Gilmore 2 Might Bring
If you're looking for a really big reason to celebrate? Then it seems the film might even be hinting at "Happy Gilmore 3."
This incredible film and technology, gives the creators the perfect opportunity to do a lot more!
It might include some iconic, humorous characters that people loved in "Happy Gilmore." They might make their return and include stars such as:
- Ben Stiller (that crazy nurse)
- The late and great, Carl Weathers (he was known as "Chubbs")!
Even better, since these films are taking us through the years, and to think of what these movies could potentially do! The most heart wrenching idea? There might even be a special funeral scene. The creator of this new sequel may just take us back into moments that celebrate those who played major parts in the series such as Frances Bay, who passed away back in 2011!
There might be one big scene from the first Happy Gilmore that they might just bring to life again! This iconic moment was a true highlight, showing a montage with the "Happy Place" from the original movie!
It's sure to make a major impact and maybe, just maybe, it'll give fans a way to enjoy more memories, as they get a real dose of what "Happy Gilmore 2" is really all about! It might even give us new and fresh glimpses of the romance between "Happy" and "Virginia Venit." It could give audiences more than a glimpse into what their romance became throughout all those years.
Fans have really appreciated the iconic Happy Gilmore so it's certainly an undertaking to bring out a great Sequel, while maintaining its originality and keeping the heart and soul of what made the first film so great!
While the world of "Happy Gilmore 2" looks to have all of the right elements, including its incredible cast of stars, it also may have a little too much de-aging technology that makes it a risky business!
You know, this technology is used often in films to go back into the past and for many epic moments like "Star Wars," the "Marvel Cinematic Universe," and "The Irishman." It's a little strange but, it looks like "Happy Gilmore" might be able to get this right and bring this technology together.
We have not yet had an opportunity to see how "Happy Gilmore 2" is going to come together and how audiences will feel about it!
The most exciting part of all? Fans are in for a special, fun comedy that is about to get released in the Spring 2025! This release comes as part of Sandler's ever growing catalog of shows and films.
