Get ready to hide under your covers again! Five Nights At Freddy's 2, the sequel to that spooky horror film, is in the works! The first Five Nights at Freddy's movie took those freaky animatronic baddies straight from the video game to the big screen, but apparently, there wasn't quite enough scare to satisfy everyone. Now, we've got a new batch of terror coming our way, and it's getting super real super soon!
Matthew Lillard (who played the villain in the first movie) revealed that filming for the sequel is starting in October, which is a huge announcement! Fans will be itching to know more after the original film hit a pretty big success - pulling in a bunch of money even though critics were like, "Nah, this is too much scary clown and not enough story". They had all the horror elements but maybe just needed more scares.
I don’t think that anyone really thought that Five Nights At Freddy's 2 would happen. I think even people who were kind of iffy about the first movie will probably be thrilled to hear this is coming. Now, we've got all these rumors and whispers about a killer dude, named William Afton, and the new theories of what’s gonna happen in this second movie. And, with a new story, and Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, and Lillard (plus everyone else involved!), the cast is basically in place to give us a fright. Maybe even enough of a fright that everyone's happy this time around.
Remember how everyone's making those guesses and making theories about William Afton showing up and wreaking havoc? Those fan theories might turn into actual horror scenes. The fact that they’re getting things moving and it's already confirmed for a release next year, well, that says that they're feeling pretty good about the project!
Matthew Lillard spilled the tea when he was being asked if he would play Shaggy from Scooby Doo in some kind of a remake. I guess all the spooky vibes from the first movie kind of prepped Lillard up for all those “Scooby Doo” stories. Anyway, when he dropped the bomb that they were getting ready to film FNAF 2 in October, that's huge! The first film was already like a gateway drug for FNAF fans who hadn’t watched or even played those crazy video games.
And now? Now we’ve got those huge numbers (The first one was a huge success!), people saying "What happened with that weird Freddy thing", and then bam, they announce a sequel? The stars are definitely aligned. And I bet people are dying to know about that story. Who knows, we might get a new look into the history of all those haunted, mechanical monsters.
Let's face it, everyone is kind of on edge after the last FNAF movie, some felt the whole “not too scary” thing wasn’t scary enough and was more "easter eggs" than a legit movie experience, but audiences seemed pretty happy, so, now that the team is putting together the sequel, it's a really good time to step up the scary, horror element.
I mean, if they can add some more terror and also a more powerful narrative that really captures the magic of the whole "Freddy and friends” world. We can say the movie world is waiting! If Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 nails the scares, I can see them pulling in big crowds. Maybe the box office success will make a bigger splash and have people hooked to see the latest installment from start to finish.
